I'm not worried a bit about Tyndall...

I'm going to assume you meant NIT, the resume the last two years was better than ours this year. Switch team names and use the RPI/Record of USM the past two years and they are a #4-6 seed.

When you win 25 games and have a top 30ish RPI and don't make it, it's not really your fault.

A little dramatic, aren't you?

I'm pro Tennessee, some people dislike my unbiased outlook on both Tyndall and Butch, some posters are level headed enough to get it.

I get it but on one post you praise the guy and in the next, he's mediocre.
I like Butch and was mad at the Vandy loss and called him out for what he did wrong but never go from "I'm glad he's our coach" to "stupid mediocre guy hired from Cincy"

I think we should be a little concerned about Tyndall. Running off a bunch of players because if a my way or the highway attitude may work at a place where kids have few options, but not at a place like UT where the players do. I still think that he's better than Martin, but the jury is definitely out on whether he will be successful or not. I'm not convinced either way, yet. I also worry that we screwed up by missing out on White.

And I've never called Tyndall a stupid mediocre guy we hired from USM.

I've liked some of his moves: hiring Pinkel, landing Punter, pursuing Cofer, offering 2015 GA recruits but dislike some of his moves as well: running off 2014 recruits that we obviously could use, losing current roster members, potentially losing our player with the highest upside.

This might be the first time we've ever agreed

I wish I was the coach of this forum, I'd run off a bunch of guys and start over with a select few too. :)

Martin's Missouri state team had a similar RPI, where were you on that one?

Looking at the final pre-NCAA/NIT Tournament RPI from 2010-11, Missouri State was #46. That's quite a bit more towards bubble/NIT territory than either of Tyndall's Southern Miss teams who were 10+ spots higher than that Missouri State team. The year prior to Tyndall USM had nearly the exact same resume and got a #8 seed at large bid.

I'm interested to see any evidence that he ran off recruits , I don't believe that at all . That's pure speculation

Seems as though many are giving CDT a pass on his re-recruitment of players. Perhaps they don't fit his system, either way it seems very odd this number of guys leaving (incoming recruits included). Let's hope the bleeding stops and the reinforcements will make for a better team this Fall.

if you look at history, he did this at his two previous stops as well...wanted quick roster turnover

...and that reason is the guy has a plan. He's not panicking at what is going on with the roster because the guy has a plan. Our previous guy's plan was go to China his first offseason when he had 2 guys decommit. Tyndall has been through this already at S. Miss and he knows what to do.

It's hard to put into words how bad our previous staff was. People think it's hate. Not at all. It was just that they were so poorly prepared for anything that they encountered. I know it's time to move but it's tough to without recognizing the difference between this staff and the previous one.

I'm not worried either. Next year was going to be a transition year with or without Martin. I'd much rather Tyndall be leading the transition than Martin.

Martin used fan unrest as a way to motivate his players against their own school. Sorry, that's chicken sh*t in my book. He said they woke up a sleeping bear. Why the hell was the bear asleep in the first place? You had to use fan unrest to finally motivate your team to do something positive for once? That's pathetic. Take every spineless player that doesn't want to play for UT. It's obvious where their loyalties lie. You play for the University of Tennessee, not the University of Cuonzo Martin. Good riddance.

Or took a USM team that had made the NCAAT and led them to 2 straight NCAAT, job well done.

You really don't think tulsa was a better team do you?
It's the screwed up system used for one horse conferences. Same for Martin the year he should have been in at M St.

#132 vs #18.

Why do they matter when we both had the same top 100 wins, they had more top 50, we had more bad losses too. Their RPI was 15 or so spots higher than ours. It was BS that they were left out and we could have played the exact same schedule, went 25-6, had 2 top 50 and 5 top 100 wins with a #29 RPI and I'd guarantee you we'd get a fairly high seed/at large bid.

I bet you was keeping up with USM around tourney time and saying this ? I doubt it. Now that DT is the coach at UT you will claim it was BS that they got left out.

I bet you can look back weeks ago and see that I was the first and maybe only one lobbying for Tyndall to get the job. I knew exactly what he did at Morehead State and at Southern Miss. It was bad for them that they got left out, ironically, we probably took their spot so I'm good with it.

So the NCAA committee has an unfair bias against Tyndall? Great.

No it's not, maybe I know this the same way I knew all 4 were asking for their release prior to anyone else?

I think it has more to do with people's general dislike of your sudden rigid demands of our new basketball coach after giving Cuonzo Martin a pass for 2.5 seasons, and then trying to pass that blatantly obvious difference off as an "unbiased" outlook.
