I have a 1 foot square in a frame from the artificial turf. The last game played was 11/27/1993 against Vandy.

Not sure if it can be bought anymore. Mine is from the end zone, the checker board

I got that one too- final score 62-14, one I stole off the goal post when I worked concession stands, and the chronic. Gots to love the grass and Vols.:cool2:

I have of the same artificial turf that was mentioned. Mine is about a six inch square with the UT/Vandy score and also comes with a cert. that tell the history of the artificial turf at Neyland Stad. I think I paid around $50 for it at the time when they did there promo.

If Coker's stash is out, I am sure you could get in contact with Duke Crews and he could direct you to Major Wingate....Heard he has the best grass around

Somewhere in my garage I have a square but mine is solid green with maybe part of a hashmark. I have seen green squares on ebay for about $20 in the past. Everyone wants the checkerboard though, if price is an indication of demand.

I used to look for grass all the time....but nowadays, cornbread and iced tea seem to have taken the place of pills, grass, and 80 proof....:)

Yeah, the checkerboard would be very nice to have. I would be a buyer.

My dad bought me this for Christmas in 93 or 94 and now it's hanging in my sons UT bedroom.

I can still remember John Ward giving out a phone on the Phil Fulmer. I begged my dad to order one and he said something to the effect of "There's no way I'm buying some plastic grass". Whatta great surprise I had Christmas morning.

that is pretty awesome. alot of history and legends hanging on that wall. after 15 yrs i would be happy to find a chunk of green with a hash mark. it seems that many of our members keep plenty of snacks around.:popcorn: ahhh, the good ol' days

i have a 32"x18" piece painted to resemble the field. orange and white checkerboard endzones and the old ut in the middle of the field
