'27 IL QB Israel Abrams

There was a time last year when David Sanders was in town, perhaps on his official visit but I can't remember, and some name placard had his name misspelled 'Davis Sanders'. For some on here, they were convinced that UT would miss out on David Sanders because of a typo. I was referring back to that with my post, and I'm grateful for getting the QB's name right.
But his name is correct. It is Abrams. Not Adams.

I think the other posters’ confusion lies in your advocacy to change the thread title to Adams when that’s not his name.
Oh I think I get it… If we misspell his name we’ll get him like we did with Sanders. I mean, we are one for one on that strategy, so…

Can someone please change the title thread to Adams instead of Abrams? We don't want to have another Davis Sanders situation on our hands. :)

Abrams is looking forward to getting to Tennessee for the showdown with Georgia on Sept. 13.

“Obviously they have an exceptional history of quarterbacks,” Abrams said. “It’s definitely a quarterback school. I like the quarterback coach. I like how he’s very fundamental and I like how he talks not so much about if I made a good throw. He’s focused on how I made it, how the ball got there, if my reads are correct.”

Sounds like Iowa State is the biggest competition and possibly the leader here.

"There are currently four schools to watch with Arlington Heights (Ill.) Montini Catholic Top247 quarterback Israel Abrams. We're paying attention to Tennessee, Iowa State, Purdue and Northwestern. Most of the buzz is on the Cyclones, but don't rule out the Vols. Tennessee is battling and has done well as of late."

Yea no way we’re losing a recruiting battle with iowa state and purdue if we’re putting full court press on him
What we have to understand in the landscape we are currently in, is that lower-tier programs often will out-bid us for guys who are more important to their class than they are ours. It's why the DL Garcia committed to USF over us.

You're going to see that happen a lot more, but what we have to remind ourselves is that we are in a position where we don't HAVE to overpay for guys like that. We're in an enviable position with NIL, even if not the biggest spenders in the country. Let other schools overpay for guys. In the long-run, it's not going to look like the best move. Those schools will have a big % of their NIL budget wrapped up in a handful of players and won't be able to build good depth.

I don’t think this is necessarily true. We could put the full court press on him, but if playing time ends up being his number one factor, our situation probably isn’t near as attractive as other schools with major QB issues.
