Illinois offensive tackle Marques Easley comes to town with the Vols trailing but we think the Tennessee plans to make a big swing here this weekend to see if they can flip the momentum and potentially swoop in and steal him from Georgia or Alabama. The chance to play early is definitely on the table in Knoxville.

For what it’s worth, everything I have heard coming out of the weekend suggests Easley and Tennessee are probably not a match. If he continues to focus more on his current top three, I would say there’s a much better chance that he will end up at Alabama or Oklahoma.

If you believe the working theory is that Tennessee (thru Spyre) doesn't discuss NIL dollars until a player OVs, you have to think that Easley's request must have been way outside the scope of our offer. Hard to believe this decision to move on would be borne out of anything else as much as they have worked to get him on campus and develop a relationship, in addition to his talent. Could be character-related, but that would seem to be out of left field, as well, at this stage.
