If you were to buy a gun...........

agreed, allvol, but the legal system sees it differently, therefore my statement about using the shotgun. When a police officer lays someone out, it is a murder investigation until determined to be otherwise, and the same goes for a property owner/defender, it is the same. From a court standpoint, you're better off giving them more shot than they can count than putting them down for good

You dont have to worry about it if you live in a state that allows you to defend your property with deadly force

This is my home defense weapon:

I've got one of those as well. If I could figure out how to post a pic of him on the sleeve in training, I would, but the bottom line is that anybody who would consider coming through a 90 lb. German Shepherd has entered a stage where a firearm constitues an appropriate response.

You're absolutely right, Cotton. And a German Shepherd is more likely to getting his intruder than any gun.

unless it's 10 yards long, my shotgun wins every time.
Sephiroth sword FTW -- see attachment

There goes the neighborhood.
In Texas, having a gun isn't "There goes the neighborhood." It's "Welcome to the neighborhood."

I'm looking at buying a handgun, too. Preferably something large and intimidating I can wave around in traffic to get people to move out of my way.

that one would turn the intuder's head inside out and still go through the walls of your house and take out two or three other people in the trailer park.

Looks good to me, then. On a 1-10 scale, when shopping for a rifle, I'd be looking for something that rates roughly at "dicentigrates iron."

A good shotgun is the Benelli Nova. It's a pump. I duck hunt alot and I've dropped mine in water, broke ice with it, used it as a boat paddle and killed ducks in 18 degree weather. I swear by that thing. I've had it 6 years and it has never jammed on me.

I've always found grenades to be very effective and pretty easy to use. Land mines work well also :) Really though my buddy has a glock and it's awesome! I'm getting one soon and am pumped about it!

Be careful, no safety.

I've always wanted a Model 1911 Colt .45 and an over/under Mauser 12g with rifled barrels.

I grew up around 9mm Brownings, so if they're still made, I'd like one of those too.
I own a 1911 gov. issue .45. Blued with black pearl grips. Fine little piece....

I do live in a state where this is allowed by law, however, don't think that because someone breaks into your house, and you put them down for good, that there will not be at least a limited criminal investigation into this
