If You Could Change the Outcome of One Play.........

The squib kick to Georgia after going ahead in the game with a long td run. Could've avoided the hobnail boot call by that jackass dawg radio announcer.

I think it was a 64 yard screen pass to Stephens. We had just got up to leave before it happened. I think Jabari Greer dropped a pick 6 that game & they had the punt return too. Probably up there as biggest heartbreakers with last year lsu, gaffney phantom catch, & a couple bama games. The ones where we couldn't kick a fg over 400lb tub of lard & the Corey Anderson fumble.

96 Memphis return -- could have given Manning a shot at a NC.
01 Stallworth fumble...seems like there was another missed chance later. Maybe we missed an interception or something? Would have loved to see that title game.
07 SECCG -- Ainge's INT costs us a much-needed SEC title and ruins an otherwise great trip to Atlanta
09 Bama -- just kick the ball over the line and through the yellow poles, K?

Ramar makes that layup against OSU.

Or calling a timeout to make sure your best player gets the ball.

Am I the only crazy one that thinks we beat Xavier and go to the Final Four that year?

Just watched those painful highlights of the '01 seccg...10 years later, and I still can't fathom how we lost that game. Vomit, vomit, kill me.

I refuse to watch that game. It makes me sad to realize that was "the end".

Mauk had sold his soul to the devil the previous week. Only thing that makes sense after we had already thumped them once.

In 2000, we wouldve beaten florida in the swamp had the refs gave us a sure touchdown reception in the endzone that I believe Henry caught then dropped, yet after review was clearly posessed long enough to qualify as the winning td...we were robbed again tho. The part that kills me is we wouldve beaten Spurrier while at florida 2 yrs in a row had we got that call. The next year we beat them handily thanks to Travis Stephens... all day long biatch.

We played 2000 game at home they tend to rotate divisional games home and away.

We beat them by 2 in 2001.

Can I throw in my greatest basketball regret? I just wish Carlus Groves arms were 6 inches longer when Dale Brown rushed out to save Shaq.

I would have to say the play where Rohan Davey (LSU QB) was injured in the 2001 SEC championship. If he doesn't get injured, no one ever sees Matt Mauck in that game. We go on to play for another BCS Championship. IMHO, losing that game started the steady decline of Tennessee Football that Dooley is now having to rebuild.

I was at the 2001 game in the Dome, not sure if I've been more disappointed after a UT game...

The 2001 SECCG. We had the best team in the country that year and gave away a 2nd BCS Championship.

I can't remember the one play that turned that game though. I think there was a Stallworth fumble in the 4th quarter, which is a solid candidate.

Actually, having Matt Mauck come in for us at QB to replace the injured Rohan Davey is what really put the game in our favor. Nobody has really seen Mauck and the Vols defense was not sure what to expect.

So there was one play in that game that may have changed things. The one where Davey was injured. Go back and change that one, make sure he is OK, and y'all may have another NC.

Guess I am a few minutes late in my post!

Andy Kelly would have completed the pass to Harper instead of having it intercepted by ND at the end of the game.

Fosters fumble(s) against Penn St and UCLA. Both game changers that could have been BIG wins!

One would have given us an Outback Bowl over a mediocre Big 10 team. The other gives us a win over a horrible Pac-10 to make it a 6-7 season rather than a 5-7 season (yes, we would have lost the bowl game).

My bad foster. Beating Penn state anytime is big! If you have followed the vols you will know that is something we have not been able to do in the recent years. Beating UCLA in the first game of the season could have boosted our confidence. Just sayn'
