If you are Barnes, what would you do...

Get some players that can play inside and add a couple of shooters. Send all these second rate back end of the bench guys packing. It's tough to do but the dead weight has to go. I would find a better way of saying it but we are all adults here.
Some of us are adults, but very few of the players could actually be referred to as adults. Sure by legal age they are, but mentally most aren't adults.

Have everyone on the team focus heavily on improving their 3 point shooting. Pray Corey Walker changes whatever it was that made you so mad at him that you refused to let him play at all. Teach the big guys to use their size and dominate the boards. Recruit someone who can pass and score from the post.
"So mad"? Damn. How about praying that Walker grows up some and adheres to set standards. Barnes wasn't mad at him. He's likely frustrated that Walker hasn't figured it out yet. Barnes has more to be concerned about than being mad. If Walker sticks around, it's likely because he's trying to get it. No one on this board knows, specifically, what the issue is with him. We can only make educated guesses. At least those who are educated

I can tell you what he needs to do. Talk to any number of coaches, who have advanced much further n the NCAA tourney, than any so called expert predicted. There are a number of elite coaches (under the radar out there). Rick Barnes is not one of them. The game has passed him by, evidenced by his coaching. He coaches old style, fundamental BB. Today's game, is all about elite athletes and getting to mesh within a team concept. We saw just how miserably he failed with this very concept this year with 3 five * and 2 4 * in SV and YP.

Barnes should start stretching the bench and play nine or ten deep to get some depth.

This. I have been saying this for two-plus years. Apparently, he won’t play anyone he considers a defensive liability. Of course, the bench has to produce points and rebounds and assists and steals with their minutes. We may have a couple of people riding the bench who should transfer.

I clearly said that Walker changes whatever he's been doing. But yes, coaches never get mad at players...oh wait, they do all the time. That generally results in a player not playing.

I would be all over Marcus Carr. I would sleep outside his house with Kennedy Chandler for as long as it took.

I would fly to Chicago as soon as the tournament is over and pick the brain of the Loyola coach. With our defense, we should have been what they are, but we don’t have the big man or the offensive efficiency (also run way less screens)
Maybe just a few hints on signing project players. The year Moser signed Krutwig, we took Kent.

Can he hire the coach as an assistant?

1) Add a backup PG thats got at least 2 more years
2) Find a 3pt shooter
3)Find homes for ORN, Gaines, Pember
4) Use the rest of my scholarships on post players
5) Teach VBjr he doesnt have to take a shot every time he touches the ball

We had a lot of deficiencies this year. No true PG, no real inside presence/post players (other than Fulky, who was off for whatever reason), and no great shooters. That's a bad recipe.

Interesting that you mentioned this. Moser's teams were routinely middle of the pack until he signed Krutwig. Apparently, K has done for Moser what Grant did for us. Be interesting to see how Moser does when his big star moves on.

I said this because for some unknown reason there are a few in here that get their feelings hurt when you say something the least bit negative about one of the players or the team.

This is an interesting point I have seen nobody mention, especially considering the number of people who want to say Barnes was only successful because of Grant...

Do y’all realize Porter Moser was fired from Illinois State for his performance there being unsatisfactory?

Pre-Krutwig and Moser has been a coach for 13 seasons, never finished above 5th in conference standings and never playing in the NCAAT or even NIT tournament.
