If we had a 10-3 record who thinks we get in the CFP?

Thats my point.if it means noithing then why play it and might get a player injured?

The entire process is flawed but who would want to play in a conference championship if they knew there was a chance to be knocked out the playoffs?

There are other teams that didn't make the conference championship who have guaranteed spots with no risk of losing another game.

The bigger issue is guaranteed spots for teams like Tulane and James Madison but of they didn't guarantee spots teams like this would almost never get chosen.

On its face this seems like a silly question, but on a deeper look. You are exactly right. What point at all was there in playing this game, not only did they not penalize Alabama, but didn’t reward Georgia either. In fact neither team moved at all. While I could see a small argument if it was somewhat of a close game, but that wasn’t the case. Looking at it from that perspective it’s not worth playing the game, and risk getting players hurt neither a chance of losing a spot or moving up for winning. Obviously I can’t stand Georgia or Alabama, but it’s hard to see a valid reason for playing when it obviously could hurt your team without any benefit even if you win.

The bigger shocker was Ohio State only moving down to #2. They lost. Georgia won.

Plus lose the SEC Championship who thinks we get in?I defitney don't.Bama has lots of $ and Nick Saban rigged crap.
Nonsense. I hate bama as much as the next person but the committee set precedent last year to not punish teams losing a title game. I think it’s also the right move.

Why should someone like ND benefit from not even playing in a conference?

I agree. But as long as the title games take in cash I think you’ll continue to see them.

I would bet anyone Norte Dame could beat Bama if they played.Lots of people telling me the sec championship doesn't matter. Why does it matter if Notre Dame is not playing in a conference?

So if we were 10-2 and lost the SECCG, yes, we would be in. This isn’t a conspiracy

You never answered the question because u know we don't.You know what i ment.

You literally just responded to me saying “we would be in”

Your a complete idiot u make no sense.

I’m very clearly telling you, that I answered your question in the post you quoted while stating I wouldn’t answer your question.

This is sad at this point.

It’s an extra game….. does common sense not tell you if 1 team is getting judged on X amount of games shouldn’t all teams be judged on the same X amount of games? It really doesn’t matter. The committee has set that precedent. The committee is saying based on both teams regular season. We believe bama is the better team. What’s ND best win?

Bama beat UGA in Athens. You’re being irrational bc you hate bama.

I dont hate Bama just dont know how they got in and others here dont see it either..If they beat Georgia then it would have been different. The Sec Championship doesnt mean nothing why play the game?

Honestly they shouldn’t. But as long as it’s raking in money I’m sure they will. There’s no incentive and it’s a chance to injure players.

The problem isn’t Bama, it’s the auto bid spots for conference champions. There is absolutely less than 0% chance Tulane or JMU has a shot at a championship. It should be the 12 best regardless of conference. Bama deserves in, those two don’t. That’s where ND got pushed out.

Hopefully after this year they take a look at that nonsense.

The playoff committee has said for over a year that they would not punish the loser of the SECCG.

So if we were 10-2 and lost the SECCG, yes, we would be in. This isn’t a conspiracy

Also, use spell check before insulting people in the future. That way we will know what you “ment”
Does this hold True for the Big 12 as well? Obviously it doesn’t because they are out. Because BYU was in until they lost. To the same team they lost to earlier in the year. The #4 ranked team.

Where do you get the idea that BYU was in? They weren’t

The stupidity by the commissioners, who designed the CFP, left the loophole that allowed 2 G5 teams, both toward the bottom of the top 25 to get in is the problem. If a G5 team made it as a conference champion that should have cancelled their auto at-large bid.

What other conference or group has a guarantee of a At-Large bid? I’ll tell you , none. Only conference champs & only the 4 highest rated ones are guaranteed. It was terrible lack of vision to not expect this scenario when Boise & other G5 schools have earned a top 4 bid in the past.

Last year the seeding was a fiasco due to their ass-kissing of B12& G5. Now it’s even worse with 1 deserving team being eliminated for Tulane for heavens sake.

It’s the five highest. Not four

If we were 10-2 and then lost in the SECCG to a team we had beaten earlier in the year at their house, yes we'd be in.

The SEC and Big Ten are not going to stand by and let their conference championship game losers be knocked out of the playoffs.

4 highest rated conference champions now that PAC 12 doesn’t exist. That’s why Duke ain’t in it.

It’s still 5. The 5 highest rated conference champions. Tulane and James Madison both won their conference

Why? Because the SEC earns millions from this game
