will that mean much with our recruiting class? I know according to ranking our class it will hurt some.

But we have two 4* WRs on board already. Will not getting a 3rd WR hurt that much?

Don't get me wrong, it would be sweet to land the #1 WR in the country.

My guess is they know the QB plan......like if this happens, he will come here.

we should get atleast one more 4* guy. Tennessee is in on 7 of the 12 top WR left in the country... I think we get Woods....

... maybe mixing that koolaid just a bit too strong! Don't really think we have a great shot at Cobb, but Prater's a possibility and that would be a good WR recruiting class. JMO.

I dont think they know that much. Milton seems like is was ready to commit a while back but wanted his parents to visit before he did. So the QB question was not a concern for him. Ambles was loosing interest from schools and the ones that he was still considering were starting to fill up. I do not really know nor do I care what his off field issues were but I do know from his interviews he has a big ego. Not to say that is a bad thing but he saw UT as a chance to start as a freshman, where I think some of his other choices that wouldn't have happened. Speculate all you want but these two really don't know anything other than they feel confident the coaches will get QBs in place.

Alot of people are saying the WR's know something we don't know about our QB situation, maybe they know Lamaison is pretty good.

I think Prater is a Vol. USC is on the verge of being in some very deep crap with all their violations. I don't want Scroggins to de-committ cause he made his bed now he can sleep in it.

I think Bray comes here and Prater commits as well. I don't want any of those other kids to de-commit, I want them to look back in 3 years and say "DAMN, I could be playing for a National Championship if I had went to Tennessee." Instead, Charlie Weiss has been fired, BYU can't make the BCS, Pete Carroll is on the NFL and USC is on probation.....Sorry boys the cupboard is full here at UT, enjoy not playing in bowl games or being on national TV.

I really doubt USC is going to get any serious penalties. I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.

Prater or not....we will get at least one more WR before its all said and done

Agreed. Even if we don't get Prater we will get 1 or 2 more receivers. I feel like we will try to get another big possession receiver, then probably go after another smaller, quicker WR, kind of like Nukeese.

Not as much as not landing a qb.

This class doesn't hinge on Prater or any other single player including any of the QB's they've looked at.

If it is dependent on anything at all- that would be getting 4-6 solid OL prospects to build on and on the coaches getting guys that THEY have evaluated highly.

Prater would be a very nice pick up. He reminds me somewhat of Carl Pickens in HS though not as physical or physically developed. But I'm no more concerned about losing him than I was losing Scroggins. I remember several folks saying that Ambles would not choose UT if Scroggins didn't... and that the whole class would be ruined.

The coaches seem to be doing fine without Scroggins so far.

Rivals had a nice article on * players and how ol' Frankie Beamer does more with less. Dont get me wrong I like to see all the * on board but it really boils down to X's and O's and who can coach. I am excited because of all the coaching experience we have and truly believe 5* or not our staff will turn it into success on the field. Just my 2 cents. GO VOLS!

It's not only about Xs and Os. If that were true, this little recruiting thingy wouldn't exist.

Great X's and O's plus discipline and hard work can bridge a pretty significant talent gap.

True, but wouldn't you think that USC with all the 5* they get would rule all of college football. There is talk all the time about if USC were in the SEC they would not be as great as everyone thinks they are. Well, with all the 5*, and 4* they get they would kick some serious but in the SEC if the * meant so much. Dont get me wrong I believe the ratings are legit and its great to get them but if you cant coach then (i.e Jonathan Crompton) then they mine as well be just another 2*.

the * ratings are worthless because they're generally provided by film nerds and and reporter types. If there was some real football analysis going on, they would be worth more, but would still be massively inexact because that's just the nature of trying to "pro forma" players.

That said, Carroll's squad would be a monster in the SEC and recruiting is every bit as important as all of the other facets of coaching at the highest levels.
