Not as much as not landing a qb.
It's not only about Xs and Os. If that were true, this little recruiting thingy wouldn't exist.Rivals had a nice article on * players and how ol' Frankie Beamer does more with less. Dont get me wrong I like to see all the * on board but it really boils down to X's and O's and who can coach. I am excited because of all the coaching experience we have and truly believe 5* or not our staff will turn it into success on the field. Just my 2 cents. GO VOLS!

the * ratings are worthless because they're generally provided by film nerds and and reporter types. If there was some real football analysis going on, they would be worth more, but would still be massively inexact because that's just the nature of trying to "pro forma" players.True, but wouldn't you think that USC with all the 5* they get would rule all of college football. There is talk all the time about if USC were in the SEC they would not be as great as everyone thinks they are. Well, with all the 5*, and 4* they get they would kick some serious but in the SEC if the * meant so much. Dont get me wrong I believe the ratings are legit and its great to get them but if you cant coach then (i.e Jonathan Crompton) then they mine as well be just another 2*.
