If we are going to face facts, we need to admit that

I promise that Smart isn't where he is without Richt. Smart started on 3rd base.
Smart waited for the right job @ the right time. His recruiting went to the very top after one season. And it has stayed there every year since. His Alabama problem is the only blemish. Marc Richt has had zero to do with his success.

Most of y'all out here sniffing paint, probably thinking every coach should be Nick Saban, who by the way still made decisions that fan bases would rage about, but his occasional dumb decisions were generally covered up by the fact that Alabama had the most talented roster in the country every year.

WHAT HE SAID. Talent covers up coaching mistakes, and if you got talent like bama, ga, Ohio, the coach will probably take bigger chances.

Usually agree with you, not this time. Smart inherited a very good team, not great but good.
He had a much easier beginning than Heupel.

I don't make up stats, but find this hilarious considering you trolled the board for a month and a half pretending to know who Currie hired as coach, only to be made to look like an idiot.
I think you’re mistaken. Now you’re making up statements that you don’t make up stats. See our exchange about Bobby Petrino last week.

You just aren’t that bright. Maybe get out of your mom’s basement once in a while.

He's forgotten more about UT football and the game itself more than you know about it

no several OSU coaches have went in and dominated a mediocre conference full of 2-3 good programs and bunch of slow white boys in front of 40k people
They looked okay against our white boys and our black guys and even our Polynesians when they played us. It just sounds ignorant to say that they only win because they play in the Big 10 when they beat the absolute brakes off of us 10 months ago. Kinda like claiming Cignetti is 0-10 in the postseason

I said he was 0-10 for winning national titles. Which he was. Not a very good “championship coach”

Hes not creative the play calling has been crap ever sense Alex Golish left to be coach for South Florida plus the defensive injuries.Alabama covers the 9 point spread.

No one is a championship coach until they are. I admit that I once had the same assessment of Fulmer -- until he proved me wrong.

Not sure what Kiffin has to do with a discussion about championship coaches.
That's right, and very few coaches are. Josh likely isn't, we'll see. Majors won one before he got to UT then he couldn't even sniff one while he was here. Championships are not the standard for UT, we've won 2 in 73 years.

Heck, I'd be happy to see us win the conference again someday. 27 years and counting since we've had a conference title.
