If Pruitt gets fired?

When your quarterback stares down his receiver and the defending safety has to cross the entire width of the field to intercept the ball(and carry it 100 yards for a td) you have a definite lack of quarterback coaching !!!!!! I do not care how many heisman trophies our quarterback coach has.
I’m sure they have told him repeatedly not to stare down a receiver. JG just doesn’t have the mental makeup to play under game conditions. You cannot blame this on Weinke. It’s all on Pruitt for starting JG.

Kiffen is overrated as a HC. Only success was at Florida Athletic. He is style over substance.

I saw a lot more positives in 2009 than I have since. We at least played to win and didn’t let one player handcuff the entire team. I dare say JG might even be a competent qb if he played under Kiffin.

Again, too much baggage with likely major prograM violations on the horizon. No thanks, we can do better.
What are you talking about? You’re just insinuating and no, fickle hasn’t beat Saban twice so you can’t do better unless you convince Meyer, isn’t going to ever happen, to come here.

He is better than Pruitt but that is not saying much. Kiffin is still overrated as HC.

JG is uncoachable. No one could make him a competent Qb.

Freeze is a good coach but a sleazeball. We can do better. You do not have to pick someone out of the gutter because he is a good coach. There are better alternatives and Fickel is going places and will continue to be successful. I hope it is here.

Imo if Pruitt were fired here us who we lose:

Bailey
Terrence Lewis
Dylan Brooks
Eric Gray
Wideman
Some players i wouldnt want to lose. Whats sad is Dobbs made Butch look like a genious at times. One player can make a huge deference. Not saying im anywhere close to saying Pruitt the guy. Dobbs saved Butch for awhile.

I think he’s a really good coach, but I take the proven commodity who’s won in the SEC over an up and coming coach. I wouldn’t say no to Fickel by any means, just think Hugh wins faster.

Character questions are too much for me to consider him if I was the decision maker. Of course I’m not , just offering an opinion like everyone else here is.

If it doesn't land us with violations, I don't care what he does in his private time, none of my business. Well , maybe don't get arrested because that looks bad for the program.

You Ok with him using company property to solicit activities from Escort services?

Why would you give a contract to a new coach that has NO experience as a head coach, NONE, that will cost you $20 million to replace the staff if things don't work out after 3 years, and yet that is where we are, just stupid.

Pruitt would have take a one year contract, where else was he going, it is not like other major programs were interested in hiring a defensive coordinator as their head coach. The administration had no exit strategy with this hire, which was a major mistake when you take an unknown with no track record as a head coach.

I have not studied the ways of athletic directors, but it seems to me if you hire a head coach on a one year contract, you instantly hamstring his ability to recruit players and hire competent staff. Because he cannot recruit or hire competitively, he will fail. It's self fulfilling. Secondly, there is a pretty well defined market for head coaches at P5 schools; a hiring template if you will. No coach's agent is going to let his client sign a contract that varies significantly from the template. So what coach would accept a one year contract to be a head coach at UT or any SEC school? I mean, for $3.0 million I would happily give it a try. But not anyone the fans or administration would accept.

Hiring the Cincinnati coach worked well for us before.
The coach of the current number two team in the country coached there too. Robert Neyland coached at the same school that currently employs Jeremy Pruitt. Never understood what one of those has to do with the other.

I am objecting to hiring a coach with no P5 experience based on a pandemic year record. And yes, I know Urban started out in that same conference, but I'm ready for a legit experienced P5 coach and not the bargain bin rejects our last three hires have been.

Playing him over and over again is reason enough to fire Pruitt. Pruitt is not a great coach. He isn't even an average coach. He is terrible

Fickel would be my first pick.

Not trying to hateful but my lord man...we have a guy that grew up and began coaching his coaching career in tn and considers us a dream job in hugh freeze. He’s got an insane coaching resume with virtually every single place he’s coached having historic success during his tenure. He’s coached in the sec and actually had back to back wins over the best team in the conference. And on top of it all...he’s out to rebuild his image after having some moral shortcomings. How on god’s green earth could anyone ever suggest that a die hard Ohio state guy (who was pretty disastrous in his one year there as a coach), that is relatively inexperienced as a coach could possibly be a better move than high freeze?

I don’t like Freeze’s baggage and Fickel’ HC record while brief is impressive. I really don’t have a strong enough preference to argue about it, just want Pruitt to go. There are other good prospects who have been mentioned since I made the post about Fickel.
