If Pruitt fails, the fans fail.

Basically all the good players outside of the receiving corps wouldn’t be here. Talking ELITE TALENT. That Pruitt and nobody else could have brought here!

And once again everyone, these are all kids that are better than what we had!

Pruitt took over a bigger mess than we like to think.

Wait you think some dude posting on here is the reason we hired Schiano?

No, that's not what I meant. This poster was pumping Schiano for a couple weeks prior to Schiano Sunday. As a result of this constant pumping, several posters did their research on Schiano and ran across the Washington Post article about Sandusky and Schiano's "involvement". When Schiano's name was leaked to be the guy, there was already such an opposition to Schiano that the PSU stuff spread like wildfire.....

Many of Clay Travis's talking points from that day were from this site and he was one that helped to inflame the fanbase....

We burnt the house down, and in one recruiting class Pruitt laid a solid foundation.

Let’s see how he completes his work.

I agree, but the fans should upset and we are,Give Pruitt a chance.Changing coaches every three years is not the answer

You do realize that Kiffin left us right? So that doesn't count as a firing.

Fulmer was coach for what? 15 years?

Dooley got three years where it was clear he wasn't cutting it, three 5-7 season won't keep you hired any where.

Butch got five years, because muh stability, and then he got canned because the wheels fell off.

So to make it perfectly clear, we have never fired multiple coaches after three years. That's a false narrative I see posted on here all the time, that ranks right up there with the no talent narrative.

I know before you say the fans don’t have anything to do with the product on the field. I get that and I know that.

However in this case we caused Pruitt to be here. I believe the fan revolution was needed. It got EVERYONE fired in athletics & administration departments. We had enough of “their” decisions and we revolted.

If Pruitt fails we fail as fans in the eyes of every decision maker across the country. Fan bases will never be able to do what we did. Tennessee will just be the school every other school points to with their fans complaints. Saying “shut up you don’t know what your talking about do you want to be Tennessee?”

Fans we have power and it showed in what we did. This is a pivotal moment, is there a lot we can do? No there is not. But calling for Pruitt to be fired is a bad look on us after what we did. We burnt the house down, I mean burnt it to the ground. And now we are upset that the house wasn’t rebuilt overnight???

When you burn your house down it sucks, it takes time to rebuild and takes a few years to get all your stuff back. Was Pruitt the perfect hire? Absolutely not, he wasn’t ready for this job. However he can learn, and if we get behind him and help him recruit by just not calling for his job, or complaining to players and recruits he could succeed. He can recruit when we are there!

So is Pruitt the guy? That’s yet to be seen he hasn’t even had two recruiting classes yet, but if he has success here that means us as fans here at Tennessee won! Because if Pruitt fails we fail.

This is what we caused that’s true.

But.... if it fails and as of now there’s no reason to believe it won’t the fat cats get to say I told you so. They’ll hire a puppet as a coach and if Fulmer fails after next season then they’ll do the same for AD just like the BOT

That's quite the baseless assertion. Nobody but Pruitt could have brought elite talent here.

Compelling.

But what if, and I know this is crazy, one of those other coaches could actually COACH up the talent the had, and get them to line up in the correct position?

It did. It’s called the trickle down effect. There were more things than Schiano Sunday revolt too, that was one of them.

Empty Neyland
Gruden insanity
Roster issues
Stability in administrative & athletic sides

There was a lot that went into it. Tennessee when hiring Pruitt was left with an extremely limited choice of unqualified inexperienced coaches to choose from.

I do understand causation, and that also is a word to use. However I see causation as a singular event that can cause separate issues.

Where trickle down to me is more of numerous issues that cause a greater problem because of the multiple events through the “trickle down”

The fans didn't hire Pruitt. Also, we sucked before the fans revolted as well.

Man it’s the perception I’m talking about with us as fans. We demanded better and rioted. It got everyone fired and then no coach with successful experience wanted to take this job. We ended up with a first time head coach.

I think your missing the point here or didn’t read the whole post.
They will never understand what you are trying to say. They will never take the time even try to comprehend it. Some people brains just aren't capable.

No people see the point he's trying to make, it's just wrong on so many levels that he fails to see the point that everyone else is making. He makes the claim that because we revolted that no one wanted to come here, what he fails to grasp is that the administration is offering peanuts to any coach that would take the job.

To get a top coach, we have to pay more than the $3.8 Million we're paying Pruitt. We won't even get a return phone call offering that kind of money. Currie had multiple options to choose from. His stupidity in listening to one booster to go after a guy who's career as a coach has been mediocre at best is what caused the fans to revolt.

Currie could've easily had Miles here, but not at $3.8 Million. The only perception around the country is that this university hires on the cheap, and that's a proven fact at this point. Let's also not forget that Currie put out there that the university was pursuing Gruden when in fact was a lie to "trick the fans" so he could get Schiano. To say any fan base would be happy about that is a discredit to people's intelligence.

All of this "perception" is squarely at the feet of the AD/Bot/University President/Boosters.

We have a top 5 paid salary staff in the country.

Money wasn’t the issue. It was our roster & the dumpster fire that we in our fan revolution & Currie caused that scared any coach of proven quality away.

We are where we are & if you want to continue to demand unrealistic expectations immediately despite where we were in December of 2017 that’s fine and your right.

I’m just telling you brother, your not looking at the whole picture here & seeing how bad some of our players “older guys” attitudes & abilities are.

Pruitt has only had one recruiting class and he knocked it out of the park, he needs time and support.

Ok I'll play your game...… If our inept AD doesn't try to hire Schiano, then all of this is moot.

Listen "brother" you're not looking at the big picture here. You can have the best staff in the world, but if the leader ain't worth a damn it won't matter. While we might have a top 5 paid staff in the country, that only happened just this recently when we got Chaney and Ansley and they pushed their salaries over 1 million annually. You can't get a top head coach, and that's what we're all talking about here a top head coach with just $3.8 Million a year salary. For a top coach we should be spending close to $5 Million, but I forget we don't have that kind of money.

Let's also do away with the no talent narrative. Our last 5 classes they were ranked, 7,4,14,17,21. All top 25 classes, well above everyone in the East EXCEPT Florida and Georgia.

As far as a composite of the whole team we're 15th, behind only Georgia in our division. Also looking at that and looking at the past five years, the lowest we were compositely was 15, which happened this year and last year the highest we got was 12, back in 2015 and 2017, do you know who we were ahead of both those years? Every team in the east EXCEPT Georgia.

2019 College Football Team Talent Composite

Now that we've settled that part of "no talent" let's move on to your next point.

So players have "bad attitudes" and who is it that's in charge of getting those players to buy in? Well my word it's the head coach. It would appear Pruitt can't get through to some of these guys and instead of doing what most coaches would do and bench those guys to let younger players get experience he doesn't, so idk what he's up to.

I've also seen multiple coaches this year go in and start winning with another coaches players and not have the issues we're seeing. Shoot Herm Edwards didn't even hire his own staff, he just took over the one there and they're 3-1, with a win over #18 Michigan State. Yet our head coach in his second year with a majority of the players on the roster "his guys" can't beat Georgia State and BYU who btw we recruited well above them.

So what it looks like is we have a horrible head coach and an overpaid staff. Cause for what we're paying the staff we're not seeing any results.

As far as unrealistic expectations, which is the dumbest argument of all, I don't think anyone on here expected us to win the East, I don't even know how many expected us to finish better than fourth. What I can tell you is that many of us expected to at the very least be 3-1 right now, with a good chance at a bowl game. Which btw a lot of national media members picked this team to go to a bowl. Now I don't know what you expected, but if you expected to be 1-3 at this point and time then you need to go play the lotto.

Stop trying to put all the blame on the fans, cause that's all your points are, pointing back to the "fans and their unrealistic expectations".

Currently we are 23rd overall and 11th in the SEC, I doubt Leach could do worse.

Leach actually did worse in the PAC 12. He only won 12 total games in his first 3 seasons. That's a 4 win average. Not many conference wins either. What if he had been fired in year 3 when he only won 3 games for the second time in 3 years?

Yeah it’s us fans....

Kiffin
Dooley
Butch
Schiano secs away
Pruitt

It’s all on us. Ad had no blame.

Man, screw thst trash!!!

Bama fans blow us away and you don’t see them blaming fans.

We actually had leaders at our university wanting to hire a guy who looked the other way while a pedophile was in action. His job security mattered more than the kids under his care.

If we are responsible for making sure he didn't become a recruiting tool for our competitors, then we all should own it proudly.
