Bailey will get crushed if he starts against A&M. Just need to face it. This ain’t the year and move onI think Fulmer is approaching the conversation of going out with Pruitt now.
I adamantly defended Fulmer as our coach, and I still do. I love Fulmer as a coach. However, anyone associated with Tennessee football that continues to allow Guarantano to start—should not be associated with Tennessee football in any capacity.
Fulmer needs to lay down the law—NOW—if Pruitt starts Guarantano again....he’s fired. Period.
It’s time Fulmer tries to save his own ass.
Pruitt was as hand-picked as you can get by Fulmer, who himself was the beneficiary of a Boris Yeltsin-style palace coup when Haslam wanted Greg Schiano. Got John Currie fired (who the hell hired him, btw?) I was cheering Fulmer on at the time and hoping Pruitt was the guy but now it appears to be a poor choice. Highly-paid athletic directors are supposed to make good choices. If Knoxville Phil (shoutout to AtlantaVol) loves UT as much as he says he does, he has to fall on his sword and resign.I think Fulmer is approaching the conversation of going out with Pruitt now.

Pretty much sums it up.Fulmer should have hired a coach he was convinced was driven to win, develop players and compete at the highest level of the conference and the NCAA level we compete in, not some goober than can't put young talent on the field, can't scheme to save his life, can't defend the simple slant, can't compete as an SEC head coach.
The raw hatred with Fulmer is the complete fatigue with his polarizing position within UT athletics, he was terminated for getting lazy on the job, he would not hire capable assistants beyond Chavis or Cut, he had no skill set that was in demand by any other ongoing college or professional football organization following his termination in 2008. Now he is back, did a behind the scenes move to get a job as athletic director that he was not qualified for, had no experience in, and pitched himself as an "interim" and now we are paying him $1 million a year, he's got a contract that runs through 2023 and we are stuck with his ego and sideshow yet again. We are tired of living in the past, we are so tired of talking about 1998, where we are posting non competitive performances again mediocre teams. We now know that the phrase "he loves UT, he loves the school, he wants to make the program better" are simply channeling words that mean "I'm getting as much out of the second stop at the trough as I can, I'm bigger than the school and the program", Tennessee fans are sick of his double talk, sick of the way he has ignored Barnes' success, Naismith Award (Fulmer did not attend the award ceremony) and his horrific and catastrophic hire in Pruitt and he will not move to hire a coach that might be bigger than he is anyway or capable of making his own legacy as head football coach at Tennessee.
If he loves the school so much, why the over the top salary for a guy with no AD experience, why a contract when he said it was only interim, why the need to hide the contract extension, coming to light only after Pruitt's extension was thrown in everyone's face, why does he need a contract any way, Fulmer is only concerned about Fulmer, his ego, his legacy (which is eroding every day he is still on campus) and he is completely unemployable anywhere besides UT and you wonder why fans are sick and tired of Fulmer?
I call BS! Oregon has 48 different combinations. Take a batch and slap a Power T on it!Not sure he promised anything but he tried to make it happen and due to a contract with nike nike said Tennessee didnt give them enough time to do the black jerseys. Its something that has to do with time in advance. So it probably will happen next year or year after.
I think if we see a pulse, we’ll be placated. A pulse would be DIFFERENT.The JG scapegoating hysteria has reached max level. It's as if these people can't see that we have an entire team that sucks. They'll really be wringing hands like a petulant child if Bailey plays the full game vs UF and we get routed. Gonna be a sight to see if it happens.
Yeah i know im just going off of what i heard on volquest something to do with uniform contracts. They said nike needed to know in a certain amount of time. But it is hard to believe it couldnt be done this year.I call BS! Oregon has 48 different combinations. Take a batch and slap a Power T on it!

No. An athletic director should never get involved with those decisions. If it reached the point he felt like he was ether going to do that or terminate Pruitt...then terminate Pruitt. I have no idea why the big guy has not terminated him. I believe if Fulmer had not given the boy a contract extension back in July then he would have terminated him by now.I think Fulmer is approaching the conversation of going out with Pruitt now.

I started claiming Fulmer for this mess up along time ago. Pruitt shouldn’t have never been hired as a HC. We was the only school that wanted him as a HC. Hell Hoover High didn’t even want him as a HC but Fulmer thought he would be a good power 5 coach.I think Fulmer is approaching the conversation of going out with Pruitt now.

All depends on what Fulmer does at seasons end.
Does he fire Pruitt and bring in Freeze? Does he give Pruitt another raise and extension? Does he hide behind basketball season?
Sadly we have to just let it play out. History has taught us that as fans were gonna take it on the chin. Hopefully that changes this cycle. If not it’s wait until 2022 when the both are kicked to the curb.
Brent Schaeffer started the first game as a true freshmanWell...Stephens played 7 games a sophomore, none as a Freshman. Crompton redshirted as a Freshman, so.... I'm not willing to fact check the others ones, but I'd say your info isn't 100% good sir. That said, I'm very surprised to see that many. It is certainly nostalgic to see that many good QB's who produced at Tennessee. Those were the days for sure.
I actually remember watching the UCLA game when Manning and Stewart were both getting snaps wondering which one would emerge. Those were different times.
We already blame Fulmer for giving Pruitt that bone headed contract extension. Not only that, we blame Donde Plowman for giving Fulmer his extension.I think Fulmer is approaching the conversation of going out with Pruitt now.
