Wow they might leave and sit on the bench at the next school also unless they want to play at some of the lower tier power five schools which means losing every week. Both have played and contributed this year. Neither was gonna get to play much last night JG was playing better than he has since he has been here. He is in a zone right now and until he gives the coaches a reason to take him out he will stay in there. You don't take out your hot hand to get someone else playing time. Maurer did get one play last night and he was 0 for 1.

JG finally woke up a little bit after he was benched but still has a long way to go to be a NFL Qb. Apparently he will not transfer next year according to statements made yesterday so it will be interesting to see who becomes #1 next year.

If he stays and plays the way he's playing now... there's no question who the starter will be.

That would be the best case scenario for UT. The other 3 guys could develop then fight it out in the spring of '21.

Worked out great, they won lol. 2nd half of the season JG has been a completely different animal than 1st half of the season JG. But yeah, it's worked out great, UT is bowling. Any more posts you want to dig up just @ me lol.

IMHO, MAURER is the only upper division SEC quarterback on this roster...Hats off to JG- wghat a turnaround - but, if you had a draft of SEC And by SEC coaches, MAURER would go earlier than JG...MAURER has very live arm, great quick release and

He needs time. 1-2 years. His best case scenario would be back up next year/redshirt and come in his 3rd year competing.

I think Maurer is too smart and too competitive to transfer.

Chaney has a proven track record of getting guys to the league. He’s also proven that he isn’t afraid to sling the rock. Plus, there’s no reason to think he’s going anywhere. Maurer knows this and he knows his body could use some development before being handed the reins. Redshirt next year and be ready to compete for the job in 2021 after 2 years in the system and 2 years in S&C with 3 years of eligibility.

He’s in a great situation. Not going anywhere, IMO.

Perhaps one of the quarterbacks moves to another position because with Guarantano returning, you have 5 quarterbacks next season.
