If he doesn't then the point is moot. However, not many people are hiring folks fired for moral clause violations. Pearl is a good example.

His contract has a clause were he can be fired for pretty much what he has just done. I wouldn't want the guy. He's a good offensive coach but he's not loyal to any university just the all mighty dollar and his character sucks. I hope we have a great season and all this talk about possible coaches goes away

no . . . His problem is that he dumped Arthur Blank and an entire organization in the middle of the season less than 24 hours after a team meeting about staying together as a family and telling Arthur Blank that he was still his coach. Then he slinked out of the complex without talking to anyone and left a typed memo in everybody's lockers.

The only way he could have handled it worse is if he had taken a dump in the locker room and left the note stuck in a turd on the end of a stick.

Using this logic we would be open then to hire an ex-Penn State coach who has been arested for (playing) with kids. Winning at Tennesse is important but there is much more to it than your simple logic. By the way character matters (VFL).

Not going to happen. D Squared's job will be fine after this year. May not make a BCS game, but will win 9 games and have all of the haters praising his name and talking about 2013 before the season is over.

If Kiffin or Pearl hired their mistresses, lied to the AD and to the police, and was banging their assistant coaches wife, I'm pretty sure they would've been fired on the spot.

I honestly think Pearl has done worse than Petrino which is saying a lot. A lot of fans on here were completely bashing the athletic department for firing Pearl. It feels like de ja vu except it is happening to Arkansas instead of Tennessee.

Owners fire coaches mid season all the time. It's a business. Also Blank lied about the Vick situation.
And if you don't think Blank being pissed had anytrhing to do with ESPN saturation of BP then you're kidding your self.
When Holtz left the Jets mid season and went to Notre Dame he wasn't lambasted and in fact had the nerve to bash BP for doing EXACTLY the same thing he did.

He's too old.. Hamilton knew that UT isn't Arkansas or ole miss.. We don't want a temporary fix.. We need somebody young enough to have a career here.. UT shouldn't ever be just another stop in a traveling coaches career.. We have that opportunity with CDD. This is a big reason I hope it lasts.. We will all have a better idea of it after this season.. This is the first season where the roster will allow for some success.

I have a hard time believing that. Petrino was hired in January. The dog fighting investigation didn't even begin until sometime in April or May.

It normally has to be a lot more than a coaching change I believe. Normally it's something like a coaching change because the team is about to get slapped with the death penalty.
