If.......if......then

I respect that jackson. Leaving ATL is a huge red flag and a much bigger issue than the latest one IMO. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he made a mistake and was miserable in the NFL and got out at the first opportunity. That doesn't excuse his terrible exit and I respect that some won't forgive that ever. Winning makes me forget!

Petrino may not be the most stand up guy in college football, but he runs circles around Dools in coaching ability and its not even close. Besides, I don't look to Dools or any head coach as my moral compass. For some of you to suggest that you'd taken Kiffin back over Petrino is absurd. Petrino regretted how he left ATL but felt Ark was his only chance to coach in this conference. He wanted Ark to know he would be loyal so he structured his contract to have the highest buyout in college football history so that no school could afford to hire him for at least 10 years. Does Dools have that? Or, would he bolt for UGA if they came calling? Give me a break. This thread is one big homerville parade.

Sorry to burst your IF bubble.. No way Dooley gets fired after this season.

There is also no way we would hire BP after he gets fired from a morality clause.

Why couldn't he have wrecked before signing day? I have a feeling our class would have gained an extra LB.

Dooley's going nowhere. He's built our program back up. This year we win a lot, next year we play in Atlanta for the SEC.

He'll be here for another 15 years.

No one, or at least I am not, is looking for their head coach to be their moral compass and I don't think that has been insinuated here.

All that said, the head coach DOES teach more than football to impressionable young men and Petrino is the last person I would want my 18-22 year old to learn life lessons.

So true. If you look at how Kiffin handled his exit here vs how Petrino handled his exit from Atlanta, it's night and day. You might not like what Kiffin did, but I think most at least understand why he did it.

Absolutely. As I understand it, Kiffin's exit seemed worse than it was because of how news broke. It's not like he was on a plane to Cali. The plan was to return to Knoxville first. The biggest issue I had was with Orgeron's phone calls which I THINK were not known to Kiffin.

We will win and CDD will be back. I'm not even a Falcon's fan and I hate Petrino for how he quit on them. I have no respect for him. Now this BS? He is scum!

If being happy with a coach that wins is being stupid then you are correct. I could care less about anything in his personal life. Winning is all that matters at a place like Tenn.

Hold on now, if his personal life got him fired right as we were about to be back to our perennial contender status what good would it do us? He brought his coaching staff with him, so conceivably, if he goes they go and there goes all of the progress Arky has made lately. Just like you can't play a 5 star player if he is sitting in jail, you can't stay on track if your coaches are being stupid off the field.

It blows my mind how many people think there's a chance in hell of Derek Dooley landing at UGA in the current climate. Go spend about 5 minutes reading about President Michael Adams running Vince Dooley and the comments that have come from Vince and Barbara since and it will be very apparent how unlikely it is that Adams hires anybody named Dooley or vice versa.

IF BP is fired at Arkansas

IF DD doesn't get it done this year(I have and will support him believing he will succeed this year)

Then BobbyP will be our coach in 2013 IMO.

I may very well be in the minority but that would be a home run if 2012 isn't a year that warrants DD returning.

There is absolutely no way Hart will hire Petrino to be our head coach in 2013.

Bruin, Do you really want this leading your Tennessee Volunteers? Like the way he threw that bowl ballcap on to remind everyone of his 11 wins...LULZ!

Petrino's not getting fired over this. He'll get suspended for the Spring or fined for lying to his boss and the University, but its not like this is an NCAA issue like Pearl's. Lucky for Ark this happenned now instead of August

Kiffin had a chance to pull a "Petrino" on January 12, 2010...while it sucked what he did, he didn't just leave town without a word (face to face) to his players.

Petrino informed the Falcons via text or email....in the middle of the season. Not only is he a scumbag, he's a coward too.

Kiffin was pullin "Petrinos" while he was here and just never got caught. Doesn't anyone know about when he crashed the Lexis- his posse of co-eds left the scene? It was only a matter of time before something came out with him and co'eds. We dodged a bullet there... well, kinda.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I dont agree with this. Not because he is a bad coach (we all know he is an offensive genius), but this scandal seems to gave the potential to last through most of the year. What school would hire a guy in the midst of a scandal or fresh out of one. If bp is fired from Arkansas he will be untouchable for at least a year. Even then, hiring him would undo most of whay dooley has done as far as the vfl program and character building for athletes. As unsuccessful as his win percentage may be, dooley has been highly successful in changing our culture imo. Hiring bp would be a step in the wrong direction.

Never would happen, and wouldn't take him. The guy is a unloyal creep. Smart is the front runner if Dooley doesn't work out.

How so? He just signed a very long term deal with Ark with a HUGE buyout. He dsid what many, many coaches have done and moved to another job. His problem was he dumped Arthur Blank which assured him attacks from ESPN.

I agree with you there. If they decide to try and weather this, the 5 months between now and Fall practice will really help soften the blow.
