What Bobby P has done with largely 3* talent at Arkansas is nothing short of remarkable....especially in the second west. He only lost to the two teams that played for the NC, on the road no less, last year. We would be FOOLS not to take him if he were available.

You're right. We wouldn't be fools. We'd be absolute morons.

The guy is the coaching equivalent of Botox. Everything looks good for awhile but eventually he'll go away and things will look worse.

Arkansas will never have equal talent to Bama as long as Bama has a strong staff regardless of how good the ark staff recruits. That's why BP winning 10 at Ark is just as impressive to me as what Saban has done.

Vandy had a higher ranked recruiting class than arky. If they had a mediocre recruiter, arky could pull in top 10 classes.

I could argue what he did at Louisville and Ark was just as impressive as with a national title at the best two jobs in their respective sports and it would be a very good argument.

Yes. I lived in Louisville during that time. Got Brohm but had hardly anything else with exception Demervil.

What's morality got to do with it? I thought he was a scumbag before I knew he cheated on his wife.

You, all of Louisville, KY, entire the Atlanta Falcons organization....his wife.

My guess this is only a suspension for Petrino. He has made Arkansas way too successful at a program thatis not even a top 25 program. They will not fire him. As for Dooley if he fails I don't know that I would be for or against Petrino at this point. Success at collegiate level is worth the hire. His flight risk who knows??

If the hypothetical happens a large number of Vol fans will soften their stance on BobbyP after a year cooling off period and his questionable character IMO. He would be a top candidate IMO.

I agree I don't think he will fired.

People know Saban is scum too. Same with kiffin. A good recruiter can easily get past that

Agreed. Where do you think BobbyP would rank in recruiting on average if he was the coach at Tenn?

I think 10-15 and that would give him the talent to win big.

To me, the worst thing he's ever done is agree to sneak off to an airport to interview for Tommy Tuberville's job when the job wasn't even open. Tuberville's is the guy that gave him a shot to be an OC and build his resume so he could get a HC job . . . and that's the way he repaid him.

If any UT fan has issues with the hire or tenure of Lane Kiffin, then surely they want none of Petrino

As bad as Kiffin gets it on here, he's a choir boy compared to Petrino.

I would take Kiffin back before Petrino

Kiffin walked out, but had the balls to tell us and his players. I at least respect the **** for that

So true. If you look at how Kiffin handled his exit here vs how Petrino handled his exit from Atlanta, it's night and day. You might not like what Kiffin did, but I think most at least understand why he did it.

Thats just because he's younger...give him time.

Kiffin had a chance to pull a "Petrino" on January 12, 2010...while it sucked what he did, he didn't just leave town without a word (face to face) to his players.

Petrino informed the Falcons via text or email....in the middle of the season. Not only is he a scumbag, he's a coward too.

Yes, I am indeed blinded by morality. That is exactly correct Bruin. There are some things who can forgive. Quiting on your team in the middle of the season is not something that I can forgive. That is a lifetime ban type of offense for me. You never never never quit in the middle. You finish what you start. There are no mulligens for that offense. I hope that Bobby Petrino is never employed by the University of Tennessee.

I respect that jackson. Leaving ATL is a huge red flag and a much bigger issue than the latest one IMO. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he made a mistake and was miserable in the NFL and got out at the first opportunity. That doesn't excuse his terrible exit and I respect that some won't forgive that ever. Winning makes me forget!
