If.......if......then

I support the VFL program.

CDD and company are working to try and take high school kids and mentor them into being good students, learning life lessons, becoming good football players and becoming good men with a good education no matter if they ever play in the NFL or not.

As a father I would much prefer to trust a CDD type of honorable man with good morals to help formulate my kids character than a liar, scumbag that only wants to use kids and then toss them in the ditch.

Morals and character should and do matter.

NO to Bobby Pitviper.

NO to Gruden that's proven nothing as a coach other than he can take Tony Dungies team he built to a Superbowl and then can't keep a good team together and gets fired for his failures.

NO to Nick saTan who's as big a Liar as there ever was.

NO to Kirby Smart since smart people know that Nick saTan runs everything on the D side of the ball and is overhyped.

CDD took on a 4 to 5 year total rebuilding job of the biggest disaster of UT football in history and this is only the beginning of year 3 and we finally have a little depth and he's finally able to start making the switch to the 3-4 with some 4-3 mixed in like he's wanted to do since he took this job and he finally has good D coaches in place for the 1st time too.

I see improvements all across the roster.

I see improvements all along the coaching staff roster not just as coaches but also improvements as serious recruiters and motivators.

I see CDD working on himself to become a better headcoach which he will always strive to become better.

I see alot more Wins coming in the next 2 years as our incoming freshmen and Sophs settle in and learn the O and D systems CDD and company are installing and can provide more starters and much better depth for the rotations.

All this ignorant, childish talk about CDD getting fired is as dumb as a AlaBubba fan always is or a KenSucky fan thinking they'll get a win in football for another 26 years.

We don't even have all our schollies filled yet so we're still undermanned and we do happen to play in the SEC which is the toughest conference in the country so it's always going to be tough to get back on top but we are climbing back up that mountain and we are doing it the right ways.

VFL...GBO!!!

I stated the I believe that DD will succeed but I also am a realist and know that the possibility is he won't.

The only values that matter to me is keeping the program clean with the NCAA and winning. BP does both of those.

CDD not succeeding is not an option. Gotta have faith and know that he gets it done this year...8-4 would be a great show!

IF BP is fired at Arkansas

IF DD doesn't get it done this year(I have and will support him believing he will succeed this year)

Then BobbyP will be our coach in 2013 IMO.

I may very well be in the minority but that would be a home run if 2012 isn't a year that warrants DD returning.

So you want an unethical douchebag that is willing to serve up his wife of 30 years, 4 kids, and 3.5 mil...just to get laid??? I don't care how good of a coach this guy is! He has been consistent from L'Ville to Atl and now Arky...at showing the world "It's all about Bobby"!!! NO THANKS!!!

Cheats on his wife- check

Leaves a team mid season, and doesn't have the balls to tell his players face to face, nor the owner who gave him a chance to coach at the next level- check

Proven liar, and all around scumbbag-check

Vagabond that hops from team to team when the going gets rough- check

Sub-par recruiter- check

Goofy looking dumbass- check

Why on earth would you want this clown coaching the Vols BruinVol??????

If what I have bolded is a qualification for a job, I'm screwed.

Gets more out of less than any coach in the country-check.

Top 5 college coach- check

(I still wouldn't want him.)

If Florida loses 8 games in the conference

AND

IF Georgia loses 8 games in the conference

THEN

Tennessee will go to the Chick-Fil-A bowl as the SEC East #2 team

I understand you aren't willing to forgive him for those things but the only two check marks that matter to me is that he takes programs to successes they haven't been achieved in a long time or ever and he doesn't get into NCAA hot water. For those 2 reasons alone he would be a home run hire if DD doesn't survive this year. For the record I believe DD will prove his worth with a big year.

Petrino is a good coach, but bringing in a guy with character issues after Kiffin resigning in 1 season to take another job, and Bruce Pearl resigning with a show-cause penalty would not improve the image of the program.

If being happy with a coach that wins is being stupid then you are correct. I could care less about anything in his personal life. Winning is all that matters at a place like Tenn.

I pity you, fella.

There's more to life than ball.

'sides, the man won't be able to recruit a famine victim to come eat at Ryan's steak house. He's done.

Or someone that does not follow the merry-go-round that is Ole Miss football.

Hugh Freeze?

Really? Who's next, Leigh Anne Touhey?

They should've kept their hands off the stew and let Cut do the cooking.

I have stated that I think DD will get it done so that isn't what this thread was about.

Banned for wanting a coach that has taken 2 programs clearly less significant than Tenn to BCS bowl games? Wow tough crowd!

Yes, that seemed bad at the time. And, he definitely could have handled it better. But a big part of his approach is to keep everything a big huge secret. Yes, he flat out lied about staying at Miami. But how better could he had handled it. Should he said that he was going to Bama before the deal was complete? Should he have said that he was thinking about leaving Miami? Either of those approaches could have backfired on him. So I give him the benefit of a doubt on that one...in my book, that was like a little white lie.

In this day and age of 24/7/365 sports media coverage, I don't consider what he did a lie. ANYTHING other than a definitive answer either way leads to speculation which many times can be worse than the real answer. Until reporters stop bombarding ANY coach with direct questions such as are you staying, are you going, is he suspended, etc. and asking them repeatedly and in about 700 different ways to see if you can get a different answer, any statement that is made must be considered questionable. I am for the 1st amendment and all, but there are some things such as personal, business, career decisions that a coach should not be asked. Because as long as a deal is going, there is no "correct" answer.

Banned for wanting to bring Bruce Pearl and Lane Spliffin rolled into one coach to Tennessee.
