If hooker can’t go against mizzou…

I agree 100%. I think he needs to get at least a half vs Mizz to prove he can or can't be what the O needs moving forward with or without a healthy Hooker! If Bailey doesn't at least get a shot and transfers and blossoms on another team, Heupel better hope the pro style QB's that do have the ability to do some damage with their legs when necessary aren't needed at all during his coaching career!!! Because he probably won't get another 4 or 5 star pro style QB to come to play for him!!!!

U people virtually had Bailey as starter before he even walked thru his dorm door. Everybody should get a chance….and he did vs Tech, and I’ve repeatedly read or heard he struggled. If if if……grandma had balls she’d be grandpa.

Cool. Heupel made 3 stars McKenzie Milton, Dillon Gabriel, Kent Myers really good. Only D1 coach that offered Jordan Love. Drew Lock had his best years with Heupel as a 4 star. You don't need a 5 star pro style QB to win. Bama, who has been the dominant team this past decade, had guys like Blake Sims, Jake Coker, Mac Jones as their best pro style passers.

Please god give Bailey a chance. We all know what Milton is. He’s a 4th year college player at this point and he’s a 50% career passer. But what’s even worse than that…he has no pocket presence. He had a strip sack in both games he started and was sacked multiple times. God knows Tennessee fans know a qb with poor pocket awareness when we see one (obviously after 4 seasons of watching you know who).

I believe we are in good hands going forward with heupel. But the decision to go with Milton was a mistake. What if hooker had gotten all those first team reps. Perhaps he’d have hit a few more down the field throws. And perhaps he’d have a few less drops by the wrs (as every qb delivers the ball a little differently). We’d almost certainly have beaten Pitt. So with that in mind, if hooker can’t go I believe we HAVE to give the nod to Bailey. Most of us will never know as much about coaching as Heupel. But we’ve seen enough of Milton to know he shouldn’t be playing for an sec team. Who knows with Bailey. He hasn’t been given an opportunity under the bright lights yet.

Bailey isn’t any better than what we’ve seen so far this year.

If Hooker isn't available, coach should play the guy he thinks gives the team the best chance at a win. I suspect that's what he'll do. If either Milton/Bailey really struggles the other will play. There's not really the amount of drama here that we want to make of it.

It’s all over the place.

I’ve seen Bailey posts in all kinds of threads.

“If” he came in and had to do meaningful time…..I hope he preforms well.

However I want whoever is at QB to do well.

Bailey hasn’t shown anything……especially in this system. Vs Tech he was 40 some %…..and it really didn’t look good at all.

He probably isn’t the answer…..and that’s probably why he is #3…….I just don’t get all the “fan” hype……why so many folk clamoring for him.

Haven’t you heard?

Bailey is supposed to transfer to Georgia and bring them their first National Championship since 1980!

How dare you question his ability!!!

As good as Bailey seems to be, with a high ceiling, I don’t think he fits this system/scheme. By all accounts, he is a pro-style pocket passer. We recruited him as such. Could he adapt to this system? He’s had several months to do that and yet sits behind two other guys. Sure, we’d have to use him in an emergency. But my gut tells me he will transfer to a program that runs the kind of system he seems built for. I wish him the best no matter what.

And, for what it’s worth as a useless afterthought, my gut also tells me that we would have beaten Pitt and FL with Dobbs as our QB.

I’ll try to explain this to you anyway although I doubt it will help. But… We want Bailey to have a chance because Milton has already had a whole bunch of chances and has proven to be one of the worst quarterbacks I’ve ever seen. It is almost statistically impossible that Bailey would have performed worse than Milton if given the same amount of opportunity. Then you factor in the fact that he was one of the top high school quarterbacks in the nation and is the only quarterback that stayed with us (even after the coaching change) and there you have it. Not a hard concept to understand. Had Milton come in and performed even decent I think we would be giving the coaches the benefit of the doubt. But that’s not what has happened.
Well one thing's for sure...you're input won't factor in to whoever gets the nod!

if you really can’t understand why many of us would prefer to see Bailey (as opposed to Milton again) there’s really no need in discussing anything with you. We’ll just have to agree to disagree
Oh, we all know why you guys won't Bailey Over Hooker and Milton... if Maurer or Shrout were here you'd be asking for them also...anyone but those... "Mobile" QB's. wink wink nod nod. Don't forget your horse paste refill.

Depends on if Cooper is healthy, imo. If not, Bailey won't stand a chance sitting back there. At least Milton would have the opportunity to run.

This is a test for Heupel. Hooker is clearly better than Milton. Physically, he's not going to give this team "miracles" against UF, UGA, or Bama. Milton if he could manage the O and throw accurately has that potential.

The problem with threads like this is we really have no idea how Bailey compares in practice. Apparently it isn't good. His throws vs TTU weren't great. He has talent but he may just be that far behind the other two.

Milton is apparently showing out in practice. I HOPE that we don't have another coach who foolishly stick with a guy who doesn't get it done on game day.

Great points, but, you can't get a lot of people on this board to TRY and THINK LOGICALLY!!! All of the Bailey supporters just want to see him play AT LEAST A HALF and be able to throw the ball AT LEAST 25 times in the first half of a game with the 1st string behind him against an average or better SEC team!!! If he fails, at least the coaching staff proved he isn't an option. Until then, their is going to be speculation that Bailey could perform better at QB than what we have seen this year!!!!
You really don't understand how this works, do you?

If you give a guy essentially a "tryout" on the field, in a game, that he did not earn in practice then you betray every other player on the team. You no longer have the standing to tell a back up DE, TE, WR, or any other backup that he needs to work harder in practice before getting his shot with the starting rotation. The players will start to believe that politics and things other than performance determines who plays.

Obviously if someone performs in practice then flops in games like JG did and as Milton is doing you have to just accept that they don't need to play. That does NOT mean that a guy who isn't performing well in practice should get a "shot" just to see how it works out.

What you guys are suggesting is a recipe for losing the team and crushing morale. It has a lot to do with why Jones got fired. He favored JG and essentially undermined Dormady... and the team knew it.

If Bailey is close then he will get a shot if Milton starts and stumbles. But the evidence is starting to point toward is not really being very close... and not just because Bailey isn't a runner.

I want to throw a question or two out there....Is the talent there ? Or is it attitude ? You can coach talent, but not attitude. Fire Away

I’m sorry but I gotta call BS on this. First of all, I think Bailey sucks and wish he would transfer. (JMO) And while their may be some outliers that are thinking about the race of the Qb, I think that would come from the trash fringes. I suspect most are like me. I am blonde and blue eyed, white as they come. But if we were kicking Alabama, Georgia’s, and Florida ass, I wouldn’t care if another white player, coach, equipment manager, ball boy was ever involved in the program again. F#%k wanting whiteness at any position. I wanna win! Only color that means s$&t is orange. I’m serious if we were stomping Bama, I could care less if a white player ever suits up or coaches here again.

HOPEFULLY, they just held Hooker out because the game was already getting away from them. They need him to beat MU.

I would rather play cheerleaders than Milton. The dude is not a good QB. I would also be willing to bet had Hooker received all of the reps based on what they had shown previously. We would be in a better spot at QB. We took developement and chemistry time away from Hooker and gave it someone to piss away. Meanwhile we have a high 4 star/5star qb on the bench not really getting practice time. I like this staff and coaches but thats crazy. I do not waste my time recruiting Milton to come here instead develope what you had even if you dont like Bailey and go get your style in recruiting and part ways. Truth be told the way the qb position thus far has been handled leaves room for question. And for you guys talking all the hoopla about Tech...lol Our starting Oline allowed pressure against them what kinda time does the 3rd string allow ? Not much. Hooker is qb1 no doubt but Milton isn't any better than Bailey.
