Thanks for all the information. Even though we had good numbers, we were very predictable in many games. Especially against strong defenses. It opened up more after Hurd left, but run run pass for the sticks mentality.

So it sounds like we are pretty set with Scott and a QB Coach. What are you hearing on the defensive side ?

Hoke and Barlow seem the most likely.. the next 5 days are big days to see about movement from UT staff. Not hearing specifics but seems some surely will find jobs in Nashville. That would expedite bringing people on

No need to speculate. Watch film of the offense with Worley at QB. A crap O line blocking scheme that will get a QB killed if they can't run like Usain Bolt.

You think it is looking that way but Helfrich and Jones didn't synch up after talking so not a sure thing on the QB candidates. Butch might decide to look at others after the weekend.

I would assume Z should be feeling this way. This is not even the first time Butch has passed him over. The question is will someone else hire him? He has looked in the past and he is still here.

If Z does leave. Any chance Butch might give trooper taylor a call?

I would be surprised at that. I really haven't given much thought to WR replacement if Z left. Have to find connections to CBJ.

LWS thanks so much for updating us. I wanted to ask your opinion on QB coach- many of us are assuming it will be Canales due to Butch having a history of hiring people he is familiar with/friends with. But it would seem that Weinke could really help with recruiting given his connections in Florida, which is critical. I've felt for a while that Butch needs more elite recruiters on this staff. Are there any others in consideration? We appreciate your info!

LWS one more question- you are the only person on here who knows anything about this critical AD hire- with Brice now saying UT has hired a different search firm, why would they do that if Blackburn is indeed going to be the AD? I've never seen an administration makes something so easy become so hard. Hopefully these big money guys you previously mentioned are staying on top of this. It just appears that UT is letting Butch sway in the wind on his own while they take their sweet time getting someone in place to help him with these hires- is that intentional perhaps? Many in the RF think possibly so...thanks again for your time and insight!

So coach Z is essentially a guy that wants to be promoted and is starting to hate his role on this team? And can't find another job? Great... looks like another below average WR core next year.

Obviously this is all speculation, but if it's true he needs to be let go either way. Even though he has a long history with Butch, Butch cannot allow loyalty to get in the way of this decision and let a coach be a cancer to the team and not want to be at Tennessee. If he's going to be upset he doesn't get promoted then good riddance. Honestly it's telling when he's looked for a job and nobody will hire him. That's unacceptable at Tennessee. We should have the best coaches. Currently we have plenty of assistants who bluntly do not belong in the SEC. It'd probably be a benefit to the program to replace him.
