Mike Canales name came up last night as a possible. He has extensive QB / OC experience and he and Butch are friends. Former HC at North Texas St and current RB coach at Utah State. Interesting that he was just passed over at Utah St who hired a new QB / OC coach

Wouldn't be a surprise. He fits the qualifications.

its upsetting. very upsetting.

At the end of the day I still believe David gets the job no matter when it happens. This is much more a BOT / Tennessee administration issue then Beverly Davenport issue. It doesn't matter what she might want to do, its up to the BOT / Administration allowing whatever happens. I don't blame her at all.

How in the hell a university can know they need to replace their Athletic Director and take 10-12 months to do so is a major failure, even if you get the right person. That is way too long for an athletic department to go without leadership. Major fail.

BOT needs over haul.

Obviously the last sentence would be the narrative unless proven otherwise in his first season with a new QB. I also wonder what kind of message that sends to recruitniks. What kind of coattails is the Utah Sate position coach gonna have? Head coach makes the decision, unless the AD forces someone on him.

got some encouraging news today. I believe Blackburn will be in place in February.. this thing won't drag out til April..

now, I know I've heard it being done in December and then January.. lot of confidence though that this timeline will play out

Third times a charm LWS. Lol thanks for all the information you provide us. It makes it a little easier on us. I still hope we can get him in place by February though. The sooner the better.

Hey LWS, do you think that Sonny Cumbie is in play? He would be my pick and I have to think it's realistic. I also would prefer Dorsey over Weinke if that's the route. I really hope it's not in-house although sadly that is probably most likely...

you talking OC or QB coach??

I think Scott is going to get OC. He is trying to hire a QB coach. I think it will be Weinke or Canales. No one else has been brought in to interview nor are they scheduled yet.. I think he is looking to announce these two positions next week.

Please let it be Weinke over Canales. What about Dorsey? Brice or somebody reported that Coach jones may have met with him in NC at some point. Have you heard anything about him?

I was asking about Cumbie for OC, but it's sounding like it's gonna be The combo of Scott (OC) and Weinke/Dorsey(QB) is this correct?

Also if it is Scott do you think Azzani feels jaded and makes a move?

I haven't seen or heard where he met with Dorsey but he certainly could have. He may have. I will check on...

I think it is important to see them come on site for interviews. seems to narrow the field but doesn't eliminate those that don't necessarily.

You think it is looking that way but Helfrich and Jones didn't synch up after talking so not a sure thing on the QB candidates. Butch might decide to look at others after the weekend.

I would assume Z should be feeling this way. This is not even the first time Butch has passed him over. The question is will someone else hire him? He has looked in the past and he is still here.

Would love to see Helfrich. Or really anyone who can bring more excitement to the offense. Tired of all the let downs

these guys might waffle when they check stats the offense has put up or when they see some of our expectations. We are a tough crowd :)

Offense put up 58 touchdowns this year, most ever...

offense scored 473 points this year, most ever...

had 5,768 yards this season, second most ever...

rushed for 2,908 yards in 2015, second most ever..

Now there are your goals, top them.. :)

that was not the situation. Would just be speculation with no way to valdiate.

we will see in 2017 how the offense does without Dobbs, without Malone, without Kamara and without DeBord.

probably not as well but truthfully, how often does an offense or defense get better when its better players don't return..

How is the Denver offense this year?
