if Fulmer does replace Hamilton

Fulmer couldt even hire a good OC albeit Cutty. how could he be expected to hire a whole athletic department?

Tom Jurich would be awesome for TN.... but I still think the "Fire Hamilton" rumors are more of Fulmer politics.

if phil became the a.d., would he saw the legs off the visitor's chairs in his office so anyone sitting in them would be looking up at him? (i understand he did that while he was h.c.)

The guy that's in there now not doing so well. Its time for a change at ad. Phil would be a good choice

the thought of phil fulmer messing up the UT ath dept even worse makes me queasy. Should I see a doctor?

Would Fulmer need some help on the business end? Yes. Would he represent the University well? You better believe it. Does he know athletics better than Mike Hamilton. Oh yeah. I think he would make a fine choice. It would be nice to have a Vol running the program again.

I completely agree!

It would be even nicer to have a competent individual who would be able to make quality hires in football and basketball as well as other sports.

I think the reason Fulmer's name keeps being brought up as the next AD is because of

1) The success Doug Dickey had as AD after being a popular and successful
football coach
2)Like him or not, you can't argue Phil's love and loyalty for Tennessee

Unfortunately, the two things that help Phil also kind of hurt him...
1) I believe Dickey had a business degree and an MBA (not sure just trying to
recall without looking up)...shows a strong business sense. I never got that
feeling from Phil (i.e. keeping it "in the system" with hires and friends)
2) Would he allow his loyalty and love...emotions...to be kept in check when it
came time to make the tough decisions, like when to cut a coach loose???

Just my thoughts on the whole AD thing...been quiet a while

Welcome Great Pumpkin. Ol Phil is always welcome in Knoxville. I cant wait to see him on the sideline again. And for you nay sayers. Your Athletic program is in complete shambles now. You cannot do any worse. Wake up and hire a guy with class. Phil Fulmer is that guy. Swallow your pride and admit your fault for letting him go. He will forgive you and make things good in good Ol Rocky Top.

I think Phil's heart is all for Tennessee and would help in getting good coaches. We already have the best duo in college basketball. I think it's a wait and see with Dooley-probably 3 years.

I guess in this fantasy world of ifs and buts....

Fulmer is the new AD at UT...his first act is to create a new postion called football coaching advisor, and hire Steve Spurrier...HAHAHAAAA
