Hey I understand supporting the team and being there for two full days (at least), is the pressing need not to find a football coach more so than being one more butt in the seat at the BBall game?

Probably gonna be the biggest hire of his career.......

We got us several VN brainiacs saying Currie's butt in a seat at a few basketball games is more important than being on the job to hire Tennessee's next head football coach.

Paying a lot of what? Women's softball is the only sport we have right now that is worth a dime, however, if not for football revenue, there wouldn't be a women's softball team. Sorry but that's the truth

Football is the ONLY sport that matters at this university. If you wanna be a basketball man, then go to Kentucky, Indiana, or North Carolina. Having a good basketball team at UT is fine, but it will NEVER be anywhere close to being as important as football.

He is in charge of the entire athletic department.

If you can't understand that basic business concept you will never make it out of the Krystal's kitchen.

Without having an agreement already in place (and he didn't use a search firm), he should never be allowed back on campus.

Only possible problem is he did have a verbal agreement with someone, but that someone is a dud we didn't want.

Agreed.

He acted like he had his man this entire time.

He better have a big name ready to be introduced this week or it should be over for him.

Lol. Y'all are so damn clueless. He couldn't interview until most people's seasons concluded.

Sure, would he have been there to support them if it had been in Dubuque, Iowa instead of the Bahamas? Currie better not mess this hire up because he has been stringing us along and toying with us for a couple of weeks now

The only things "stringing you along" are rumors and your own imagination.

I know we are all upset over the football program but don’t get out of touch with reality:

The University of Tennessee spent $17,185,014 on women's teams and received $8,576,612 in revenue. On average, The University of Tennessee gave female athletes $18,999 in sports related student aid.

Never, not even with Pat has the Lady Vols ever even broke even. And softball doesn’t even have revenue.

Women's basketball and softball are both typically zero revenue sports. Women's basketball might break even from time to time, but don't count on women's basketball to keep the lights on. Softball on the other hand is in the negative on a yearly basis, that's even with the television money the university receives from the women's college world series. The university LOSES money on softball. From a revenue perspective, football is the big money maker sport at Tennessee as is the case with most SEC schools.

Exactly. The university LOSES money on softball. Football revenue is what allows the university to have sports like WBB, softball, baseball, track & field, soccer, etc.

No we've got several brainiacs that know Currie can multitask and call agents and coaches while doing his damn job and supporting the BBall team. He already has more than a few interviews lined up if he even needs them. IF Petersen jumps we won't interview Mullen most likely, the job is his if he wants it.
