player, then he did his job. Even if it was $200, you cant play a kid that YOU know has violated NCAA eligibility rules UNLESS you know you are going to lose your job. Martin probably knew there were others or other payments that would get him fired anyway but Currie did not.
I refer to the Tee Martin situation at Alabama in 1999. The allegation of Tee's mother working for a UT booster in Mobile was reported that Friday before the game. Dickey had advised Fulmer there was a chance Tee wouldn't be able to play if he couldn't get the NCAA to rule before Kickoff. Dickey pulled the miracle with the NCAA to get the approval by showing all of the due diligence UT had done before investigation into that situation. Of course, bama's low class trick failed as Tennessee beat them 21-7 I believe.
If Currie got Snyder pissed cause Currie made KState start playing quality OOC opponents instead of 4 D3 schools like Snyder used to, then good for him too. Fans don't want to see Sacramento State, Colorado School of Mines, Ozark College and Red River State. They want to see good teams a few times. The days of going 11 0r 12-0, beating trash and claiming a spot in CFP are over.
I don't know how Currie will work out at Tennessee but the story why Martin and Snyder don't like him makes me think Tennessee hired a good AD.
