If Coach Barnes leaves for UCLA....

I like some of the names on here. But seriously, to some of the fans on here, bringing back Pearl is NOT going to happen.

My pick on who we realistically can get would be Gregg Marshall if Barnes leaves for UCLA. Then Forbes or Lanier afterwards. Also, I think that Lipscomb's Alexander is at least worth considering.

Jay Wright
Nope. I would like to have Wright, but I think that he is happy with what he has going at Nova, and they would do what was necessary to keep him.

Also, we would have to load up a dump truck full of cash for him to even consider us, and we know that those damn Haslams won't let that happen.

He is not
Why Auburn's Bruce Pearl, once on the hot seat due to an FBI investigation, got a contract extension

But that's not really the case at Auburn.
Person, yes, similarly accepted money from an outsider. But the allegations there are not that he used the estimated $91,000 to lure anybody to Auburn's campus. Instead, the allegations are that he used the money to create influence over players already on campus so that he could theoretically steer them to a certain financial adviser whenever they became professionals. In other words, Pearl did not obviously benefit from Person's violations the way Miller allegedly benefitted from Richardson's violations -- which is why it's not unreasonable to believe Pearl really might not have known what Person was allegedly doing.

10 bucks says that Pearl wouldn't tell the truth about it anyways.

Yes, why? Dont give me the FBI crap because that's been debunked. Don't give me the he cheated here crap, because he had a weak administration that folded to Haslam and NCAA pressure. So again, what has he done to not deserve another chance here if there was mutual interest?
A weak admin??? Haha .. all he had to do was tell the truth.. " yes I had a bbq and the recruits should not have been there " and also not call the father of one of them and ask the father to lie and say they weren't there ... haha .. weak admin.. you want to blame it on that ????

Yeah, actually. A strong AD gets involved and tells Pearl to shut up and the NCAA to go to hell. Mike Hamilton was terrible and folded under pressure.

Talk with Marshall's agent and see what he wanted from Arkansas. If ridiculously high, call Johnny Dawkins.

So here’s a question for the field:

Is it plausible for a school to consistently have Final Four quality basketball programs and FBS playoff quality football programs? The key word here is consistently. IMO no it’s not. No school is doing it now.

Florida did it pretty well for a while. Michigan State and Michigan are often close to both. But most people would be pretty happy if both sports finished in the top 16 with an occasional trip higher up the ladder.

I'm not sure why so many people are in love with the idea of Steve Forbes. It must be that he was a Bruce disciple. Just because someone loves Tennessee, doesn't mean they need to be the next head coach. He's done a good job at ETSU, but his name has been "floated" in many different Power 5 coaching searches for years. And yet he has never been the dude to get hired. I would have to think that the much smarter AD's out there across the country have reasons as to why they didn't pull the trigger.

It feels like if Forbes wasn't a member of Bruce's staff than he wouldn't have the cult following that he has here. There was literally multiple callers after out Sweet 16 loss calling into Fox Sports Knox calling for Barnes head and saying how they don't want to "miss our chance on Forbsie. Fire Barnes and get Forbsie in here." Be careful what you wish for. It's looking like you all might get what you want.
