On another note, what didn't Casey do that makes him a horrible QB?
In 02 against Florida he looked alot like Grossman did this year in the Super Bowl. The fumble in 03 against Georgia hurt him also. The 3 picks against Alabama in 02 hurt him too. He won alot of games, but he also had Witten and Stallworth on that offense with him. He was a good QB that seemed to have his worst games against our biggest rivals.
But he did win in the Swamp so I'll give him credit where credit is due. Beating Miami at the Orange Bowl was awesome, but the D played lights out that day. You can't give him all the credit for winning or losing those games.
He was also the QB when we layed the smackdown on Michigan in the Citrus Bowl one year too...
I agree with all of those points, especially the part where you said you can't give him all the credit for winning or losing those games. Clausen seems to always catch the heat for losing games, but never gets credit for winning games. In 02 against Florida he looked alot like Grossman did this year in the Super Bowl. Sidenote: The only thing that I don't agree about in your post is the fumble in '03 against UGA. It wasn't Clausen's fault, it was an O-Lineman's fault. He released to a LB instead of blocking the D-Lineman and allowed him into the back field and caused the fumble.
Yeah, that was the most demoralizing play I have ever witnessed in my 21 years of existence.
I think it is hilarious that just because Woodson led his team to a National Title and won the Heisman that Any UT player that has a good year will get screwed out of the Heisman.
For Ainge to win, UT would have to lose at most 2 games, and I don't see that happening. And with new receivers, I can't see his numbers being good enough either.
