I'd play George MacIntyre

If GMac is ready and can play well it would help us with receiver in the portal big time.
I doubt we are trying to make a big splash at WR in the portal unless Staley or Matthews leaves via the portal. Radarius Jackson, Travis Smith Jr, and Tristan Keys will be vying for that 3rd WR spot. WR room is deep.

It's a new level of stupid to be honest.

8-4 was by far considered to be the most likely scenario for this team when the season started. Then JA plays well and everyone believes this team is magically on par with Ohio State, and anything less than a first round bye in the playoffs is a failure. It's ridiculous. If we get to 10 wins considering the injuries on defense and having a G5 QB come in during the summer with no experience in the system, then I would consider this to be Heup's best performance thus far.

JA playing well has been huge for us. But he's also been much more turnover prone than our previous QBs. We've been fortunate in other games that those turnovers didn't cost us too much. But they finally culminated into game changing turnovers vs both OU and Bama. It is what it is. We wouldn't be 6-3 right now without JA, but 2 of those 3 losses can largely be attributed to JA.
This^^^. Only 12 of 132 teams make the playoffs so to consider our season a failure for not making the playoffs is asinine.

Love Aguilar. He did great for us…but since playoffs are out of reach…why not start allowing George some reps the rest of the season. Get him some good experience. But of course we have Merklinger as #2…so maybe rotate them in games. I just know Merk will be leaving but you can’t skip over him either. I just really don’t know how we dropped this game like we did. Piss poor performance. Born in the 80s, knew the 90s Vols and we don’t lose this game back then.
If JH can get JA drafted I think that would be positive for recruiting. Would’ve be his third draft pick that previously had no shot.

As we've seen now over the course of JHs time here, the WR room is and has not been the problem. When you have a solid QB that can make reads, be on time, have touch on deep balls and make the intermediate throws, just about any WR can flourish in this offense. When you have a Nico or a Joe Milton on the other hand...well we saw what happened there. We had to rely o alot more on the running game.

It’s almost like sometimes it takes things just rolling the right way to win a chip. Seasons like this happen. If this is our low point then I literally couldn’t be happier.

OK just made the plays when it mattered. Like the Bama game a defensive TD was the make or break for us.
Who was the Common Denominator in those loses? I appreciate JA for what he's brought here but he is what he always was. A turnover machine. Time to move on and plan the future.

You mean to tell me if we go nine and three and win our bowl game and finish at 10 and three do you think we have regressed with CJH averaging 10 wins a season? Yes getting knocked out out of the playoff sucks but if you’re telling me we’re averaging 10 wins a season now I’m good with it.

10-3 with no playoffs is regressing from last year. Simple.

If we were 1-8, you might have a legitimate case. Otherwise, it's one of the dumber takes ever on this board.

Just say you don’t trust Heupel’s ability.

Which is a pretty dumb position to take when you factor in 3 weeks of practice plus a cream puff game against a CUSA team.
