I was wrong about Pruitt

He get's one more loss and only one more. We play like this the rest of the way we win out. We can afford a slip up, but only against SC or Mizzou. Can't go in unprepared and if Maurer is out you have to go with Shrout.
I really don’t think we’re going to have to worry about seeing JG anymore. He went rogue and most likely lost the trust of the whole team and staff tonight.

One of our best losses in years!!

Seriously, our team made major strides and plenty of fight.

I hated that we hired a HC with no HC experience but he seems to be improving and could develop into a solid hire. The QB fiasco is part of those growing pains but it looked like he had solved it with Maurer until he gets clocked and our O collapses.

One more recruiting class and a couple more ‘on the job’ lessons and I think CJP might have UT ball headed the right direction.

I loved his passion out there tonight. He was fired up at those corrupt refs, and rightfully so. Also loved seeing him yelling at JG.

Lol people like me and tons others have said that for while now. If given time he will get it done.....i really believe thst.. Chaney called great game. If we had Maurer I really believe we would win tonight. Jg is just that bad...hate it for kid but he is....he tries

We shouldn’t have hired Pruitt in the first place and lots of the alignment, assignment, coaching decision errors are completely his fault. The GA State loss is all on him and is still inexcusable. However, he’s done a good job learning on the job and making progress. It’s going to take a few more years but he will get there. I’m not saying he is a good coach, just not a complete flop like it seemed and has potential to turn around the program and grow into a great coach.

Pruitt is a stud. JG & the refs gave this game to Alabama. BM needs to stop being so dramatical on the field. If your hurt then fine, but if your not then stop collapsing all the time.
I think the young man is injury ☹️ prone.
He needs to be kept out until the docs can
find out what's going on with him.whether
It's a continuation from last week or another
new injury.

I’ve made the mistake of jumping on coaching bandwagons before. Butch being the worst. Came into the Pruitt years not hyped and making him prove it to me before I got excited. He did a great job tonight in my mind. This team has vastly improved from the start of the year and his recruits have already proven themselves. I am hopeful and looking to the future with more optimism.
Butch exorcised the ghost of Dooley. Pruitt exorcised the ghost of Butch with the win vs. Auburn last year. The fire is back in Tennessee football. Next step is to learn discipline vs. ranked teams.

I'm not quite there yet. But, there has been some real positive steps taken in the last 3 weeks. We'll see what the SC game brings.

Nobody wanted to beat Saban more tonight than Pruitt.

My only issue with him tonight is that he gave JG a chance at all. Screw that guy. I'm tired of the "he tries hard" arguments. He is not a good football player at all.
Putting Shrout in to go win you the game makes just as little sense. They were one play away from being down 8 with plenty of time. No need to throw the game away by forcing Shrout in there. Wildcat wasnt working.

You're probably right. We are all just over the JG tenure and need closure.

The GA State game was still handled extremely poorly-but beside that he’s been ok

Agreed. They made a monumental mistake of viewing it as a scrimmage and it bit them in the @$$. I’m betting they won’t make that mistake again.

I’ve been one of the biggest critics of Pruitt, but it’s clear now that the struggles thus far in his tenure were due to youth, the transition to a new system, and atrocious decisions from JG.

This team has vastly improved and is competing. Pruitt is the right guy and as long as he can keep getting solid players he will turn this around.

Remove JG and this team can play with anybody if the refs don’t know the spread.

Ga state is still on the staff but this team is playing much better. And a good portion of this team are young players brought in by this staff. We overreact to the good and the bad. I just want to give this staff time to prove themselves one way or the other.

Shrout was about one yard short from throwing a bomb touchdown. It would have hit the receiver right in the chest if the defender wasn’t there. It was a excellent throw but not perfect.

I'm not there yet. I still have to see results. But I think this is at worst a 5-2 team right now with good QB play. The announcers even said that Pruitt told them that the Vols would have been 4-2 with good QB play.

Seems most everyone has come around now.

At least you admit it. It was hard to tell until JG was taken out, which made it hard. Pruitt has heart and wants to win.

Also played most of the game without Tua. Never seen so many people excited after a 22 point loss and a 2-5 team. Fan base is so beat down, they consider that a win
We see improvement overall as a team. Nobody expected us to play them at the LOS as good as we did we are improving. If you are just looking at wins and losses I guess you can moan and groan. But people that watch football can tell we are getting better. But whine on brother, whine on. GBO!!!!
