I saw a Tennessee fan throw a Jack Daniels bottle at a cheerleader for Kentucky in the early '80s in Knoxville. It hit her forehead and the gash bled badly as she ran from the field. ut fans are the worst.
Well, if we had won the game, we'd all be laughing and joking about her getting her face split open by a liquor bottle according to bamawriter.

I did not make it to the game this weekend, but I have been down there many times to games in both Birmingham and Tuscaloosa dating back to 80s. My feelings were always that the Alabama - Tennessee game was a rivalry, but a mutual respect exists between the fans of both schools. There was always some jawing, but I never saw a lot of violence. As a matter of fact, I have always told people that Alabama was a great place to go see a game.
I was disappointed to arrive at work this morning and see a big bruise on the forehead of a lady I work with. Apparently, after the game, Alabama students were throwing liquor bottles into the Tennessse section.
I have seen this many times at LSU and Florida. I always thought Bama fans were a little better behaved. Sorry to hear that I was wrong.
LawVol, you're smart enough to know what BamaWriter is saying... Or maybe not. Maybe his intelligence and wit is on a completely different level than all of us.. He does have those great one-liners every now and again.
I've never actually done this...but I can state unequivocally with a great deal of certainty that this isn't true.
I'm a Senior at Bama.
First, the student section isn't anywhere close to any Tennessee sections...opposite end of the field in fact.
The Tennessee sections are in the North Endzone Upperdeck and North Endzone lower bowl.
The student section is in the South Endzone. And the student section is actually gated off from the rest of the stadium during the game. No one can get in or out.
Second, many of the students left after the 3rd quarter after the game got out of hand.
Most, if not all, students leave out of the gates in the student section. None of them would have made there way all the way to the North Endzone after the game in front of the UT section just to leave the stadium. Just doesn't make sense. There weren't that many UT fans left in the lower bowl after the game.
Third, I actually made my way from the student section to the North Endzone in front of the Tennessee section about 10 minutes after the game.
There wasn't so much as Bama/UT fans jawing...nothing anything like that in fact.
I was right in front of the Tennessee band after the game to watch Coach Saban's press conference they show on the video boards.
I saw many Bama fans and members of the Million Dollar Band walk up to UT's drum major and shake his hand and compliment them...so ask your band's drum major how he was treated by Bama fans. I was literally a few steps away from your drum major...so I was definitely there.
So, I'm not going to come right out and say you're a liar b/c that's not nice.
I will say you're not being truthful.

I guess folks don't get it. Allow me to clarify:
It's not funny when someone gets hit in the face by a bottle. It's funny how many more threads there are about thrown bottles, fights, profanity, and other assorted douchebaggery when your team just got the crap beaten out of them.
