Even if we are not as talented or deep as Florida - I can buy that, but How about James Madison or Jacksonville State? Were they not less deep or talented than VT and Ole Miss? Yet somehow they dug deep and refused to quit and the lesser team came out on top. Why can't we do that? Someone please tell me.
I hope to win, but I know what we have this season. Our D line handles all world Demps. That is what they needed to do. Our secondary gave up how many 3rd and longs?

They were good enough to beat Florida. Couldnt get pressure on 3rd and long all night. Brantley picled us apart on 3rd and long. That was the only difference.
Here is what I saw. Tennessee was the more talented team. Our D line destroyed their O line fro 3.5 qtrs. Our WR were steps ahead of their DBs. Our special teams sucked as usual as did our secondary. We scored on a big big play to make it 24-17 and then they just stopped trying. Maybe it was the fumble, maybe they were tired. If fatigue is the issue, conditioning was not done properly. I DON'T expect to win. I do expect the team to give their all every play every game.
It was really only a third down problem. It was puzzling that we didnt blitz on third down more.

When we did we still never got close to Brantley. Why gamble with more guys if it's not going to work.
If there is anything I wish we had done more it is use the funky formations line the 2 man line with Walker at MLB like we did first quarter. We didn't see that again.
A QB as good as Brantley can see a blitz coming and pick us apart with a short slant or the deep ball. We were playing it safe. Too much of a risk given the decent position we were in.
Still have to try it. Bringing three and four was easy pitch and catch for Brantley and his receivers, neither of which is impressive.

I agree. Giving Brantley all day to find receivers was a big mistake. Vols should've been in his mug all day and I'm convinced he would've screwed the pooch....Still have to try it. Bringing three and four was easy pitch and catch for Brantley and his receivers, neither of which is impressive.
