If you thought Tennessee was the better team, then you obviously aren't adept at judging talent.

They were good enough to beat Florida. Couldnt get pressure on 3rd and long all night. Brantley picled us apart on 3rd and long. That was the only difference.

Even if we are not as talented or deep as Florida - I can buy that, but How about James Madison or Jacksonville State? Were they not less deep or talented than VT and Ole Miss? Yet somehow they dug deep and refused to quit and the lesser team came out on top. Why can't we do that? Someone please tell me.

:eek:lol:

This guy is unbelieveable.

Here's my dumb question for the night, why can't we go undefeated this year in the SEC? Someone tell me that...

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut. Sometimes, just sometimes, teams have OFF days. Happens all the time in sports. During those times, other teams take advantage.

I hope to win, but I know what we have this season. Our D line handles all world Demps. That is what they needed to do. Our secondary gave up how many 3rd and longs?

When a QB as good as Brantley has NO PRESSURE to pass and sit in the pocket all day like he did, its hard to cover WR's for longer than 5 seconds. Seems short, but its true.

Only problem with that analogy is that those teams didn't beat a top ten team like UF. They beat piece of crap Ole Miss and VT teams. Also, if we didn't blow third down plays on offense and defense we could have won too. To say that we quit is asinine. If you want to see an example of a team that quit, look at last week's game.

The fact that the same D-line never got so much as a hand on Brantley might have had something to do with that.

I don't care if you put the All-Pro defensive backfield on one team. If you can't get pressure it doesn't matter. A QB will pick them apart.

Here is one point I actually agree with.... Why didn't we get pressure on 3rd and long, yet we were pretty good against the run. The only answer I can come up with is that either our front 4 isn't great (which is most likely the case) or the gameplan was to drop back into a shell and hope Brantley made a mistake. If the latter is the answer, we made the wrong calls defensively. Either way, I think the fake punt was the nail. Way to go Urbie... put the tums away for a week

Here is what I saw. Tennessee was the more talented team. Our D line destroyed their O line fro 3.5 qtrs. Our WR were steps ahead of their DBs. Our special teams sucked as usual as did our secondary. We scored on a big big play to make it 24-17 and then they just stopped trying. Maybe it was the fumble, maybe they were tired. If fatigue is the issue, conditioning was not done properly. I DON'T expect to win. I do expect the team to give their all every play every game.

It was really only a third down problem. It was puzzling that we didnt blitz on third down more.

When we did we still never got close to Brantley. Why gamble with more guys if it's not going to work.

If there is anything I wish we had done more it is use the funky formations line the 2 man line with Walker at MLB like we did first quarter. We didn't see that again.

A QB as good as Brantley can see a blitz coming and pick us apart with a short slant or the deep ball. We were playing it safe. Too much of a risk given the decent position we were in.

So, are you normally this retarded or is this what happens when you get wheeesky drunk?

Still have to try it. Bringing three and four was easy pitch and catch for Brantley and his receivers, neither of which is impressive.

They did try it. You can't do it every time with our secondary.

This... Considering the shape we were in (as in the score), I think we were better keeping it in front of us and hoping that an inexperienced QB may make a mistake.

We did on occasion. It wasn't working and as bad as it was getting the ball to Demps in the flat with space and only 5 defenders between him and the endzone isn't promising either.

It's really a no win situation no matter how it goes.

What are you talking about? What we did failed over and over!!! We needed to try something else!!!!! I think wilcox is a good d-coordinator. I dont think he did a good job on 3rd down today.

I agree. Giving Brantley all day to find receivers was a big mistake. Vols should've been in his mug all day and I'm convinced he would've screwed the pooch....

I enjoyed the game, but noted all that has been said....too many offensive mistakes, no pressure on their quarterback and poor special teams play....it seemed to me, we had a lot more penalties than the other 2 games....all of these things led to very poor field positioning throughout the game.....to the positive, we didn't give up....our freshman receivers got into the game and showed some things.... reading over the roster on the game program, i keep telling myself about how many experienced players we will have in 2 years.
