I think some of you seriously misunderstand Butch

statistically you have better than majors…...

Look... Majors is a revered figure in Tennessee history but it's not because he tore up the SEC. We aren't talking about Bear Bryant here. Fulmer took his program and took it up MANY notches. Fulmer will one day be revered more than Majors if he isn't already.

Clemson avg around 6 wins per season in its history. Dabo avging double digits. So it don't matter what the programs avg is. It matters how good of coach/coaches they have

Its ok guys, we have all been in this position before

We see that shiny new car we have always wanted, but really couldnt afford. This time, we see a better price on it. Then this guy comes out in a brown, 3 piece suit, smelling of Brute and rough sex. He tells you everything you want to hear about the car. It runs great, has the best tires, and he throws in a few oil changes and the next thing you know, its in your driveway. A few years later, its broke down. You go back and the salesmans still pawning off the same crap

:lolabove:

WTF do those car salesmen do in that break trailer anyway?

That doesn't make it right. Just because we say "well, that's the era we're in now" shouldn't justify canning good coaches for not winning as quickly as we'd all like. It took Dabo Swinney a minute before he got Clemson rolling, now look at that program.

Clemson was not a power football program before Dabo. What Dabo has done has been nothing short of amazing given how dreadful Clemson football was historically. Coaching at Tennessee should never be compared to coaching at Clemson.

But he had one. He was qualified beyond measure for this job.

Butch....Not so much.

He's comparing Butch to Majors. I think he has shot his credibility right there. Apparently we have hired the second coming of Bear Bryant and us mere imbeciles just done see it.

In 5 to 7 years I'll be sure to come back here and eat crow after we win our 4th NC in 5 years.

A minute?

He won his division 3 times in his first 4 years and won the conference once in that stretch.

His predecessor never won the division in his entire tenure.

I just can't....Lol.

He has proven he can turn a program around faster than Majors….and the NC was at Pitt….not UT.

The SEC east was literally never in its history easier to win than it was this year and Butch lost to Vandy and USC to become the only adult who ever failed to take candy from a baby.

Butch had seized defeat from the jaws of victory several times in 2015. In 2016 he elevated his game to the conference level.

Unfair...You're applying facts and logic where none have previously existed. This is your first warning.

Google is a lost art for those with poor memories.

Where did the season ticket holder guy paying Jones contract go?

He at least brought some entertainment.

We know you don't like Butch. But on this subject, of the east being down, it is simply not true. You can say it all you want and listen to talking heads say it, but it isn't true. If you look at the thread DAJ had on overall talent, the SEC East has never been stronger. Recruiting at the lower tier schools has improved more than 100% in the rankings over the last decade. Where KY, VANDY, and SC used to be in the 50-100 range, they are all now much higher and have better teams than any of the teams Fulmer and Majors played in November. Bad mouth Jones if you want, put forth legitimate arguments, whatever you want. But please look at the true numbers and quit saying the east is weak and therefore Jones sucks. It simply isn't true.
