I think some of you seriously misunderstand Butch

Well I do have 2 degrees from Tennessee so I seriously doubt you've sent them more money than I have.

lol, 2 degree's? Didn't know you could get degrees from DA , and SDA programs....... Oh wait if you got degrees, mommy and daddy paid for them? :loco:

I have had seats (4) on the south side end zone since 96, donation alone was 5k plus tickets...... Do the math! Oh wait, take your shoes off and grab a calculator.

Do you not realize that his 7.5 wpy is at a school who probably couldn't have beat Central Michigan when he took over?

They were good enough to beat Butch's Cincinnati team.

That's right...

Impressive.

Funny, but Tennessee is a historical 8.7 wpy program. So what's your point?

How far back historically are you doing this average? For most of football history they only played 8 or 9 games a year? So being an average of 8.7 is pretty damn spectacular. It's not even close to being the same thing as 7.5 per year in the modern era that Jones coaches in.

The single reason that it took Fulmer so long to win the SEC was Spurrier. If it weren't for him UT would have been in the title game every year. Jones doesn't have anything like Spurrier to contend with in the east.the only reason he loses is because he sucks and beats himself.

So what? You make it seem like he should get a pass for that. There were years where we had the more talented team than Florida, yet Spurrier still outcoached Fulmer and beat him. Either way, the results were the same. 6 years went by before Fulmer won anything.

Majors had a really strange tenure at Tennessee, at least when viewed in light of present-day expectations.

He certainly would have been fired after that 4th season, and he didn't truly have a great season until 1985, which was his 9th year as coach.

We want better than Majors.

There is a true internet legend in this thread

He has done more and been more than any of you will EVER be

You should silence yourselves

You should have used some of that money to go to college. Your responses might be more intelligent. But what do I know. I can't relate to the experiences of sidewalk alumni.

CBJ is 2-2 against vandy and 0-3 against muschamp. Fulmer would at least be in NY6 bowl in his 4 th yr.

You are a hoot. Over the 21 years I've been a season ticket holder, I'd be willing to bet my money sent to the university is at least 50-100 more times than yours. Coach Jones has brought us out of the depths of despair and into the light again. Does it make you feel like more of a man to tear him down considering he's doing something YOU COULD NEVER DO? Are you jealous because he's building your program back to a point it's not a dumpster fire and if and when we go after another HC, they won't scoff at the chance to coach UT? Keeping spitting your vile you KNPOS......:)

Facts don't care about your feelings.

Majors would have been fired at ANY power 5 football program today. It was a totally different era when college football didn't mean as much. He was also a beloved Tennessee player with a National Championship. He had built in credibility for the position. Jones has none of this.

That doesn't make it right. Just because we say "well, that's the era we're in now" shouldn't justify canning good coaches for not winning as quickly as we'd all like. It took Dabo Swinney a minute before he got Clemson rolling, now look at that program.

Lol...That makes it okay that we hired a coach that was beaten by our worst coach ever?

Sure does…..he has taken a program which was in worse shape than what Dooley had inherited and turned it around to a winning program……no shame in that.
