I Remember.......

Have done this several times.... and when I get off this crazy diet I think I'm going to do it again

And Sly those were some good times

I hear there is a drive-in in Maryville, I may go there this weekend and drink a Pepsi-Cola in a bottle with peanuts

There is and it's open Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Cheap, too, from what I hear. They have a flea market the same days until 5 pm. Drive in opens at 7, I think.

I remember mowing my grandmother's lawn with a push mower (non-powered). It was fun then . . . would hate to do it now.

I pushed one of those 'reel' mowers for the grandmother many times... I moved to Fl and thought I would go green, bought a reel mower... bad mistake... wouln't cut thru St. Augustine grass. I took it back and bought a 'real' mower.. complete with motor...ha

My father purchased one of the early model electric mowers. That was appropriate as he was an electrician with the power company.

He would not let me mow the lawn until I was 13. The first time, I ran over the cord. He was not happy.

My Dad had one at one time. I'd forgotten all about it until you posted that.

We kept all the grass in the yard down playing baseball in the backyard.... had a ball diamond in the field beside our house and all neighborhood kids played there.

Dad had those old asbestos siding shingles and they were like glass. When we hit a baseball in em they would shatter, he never stopped us until we broke out two windows on same day in the same game....

Good times!

There's actually some electric stuff now that's got decent power and does a good job for homeowners level stuff, but I'm too stuck on the belief that electric equipment is junk to get any of it.

Plus then I'd have nothing to tinker with

I know. If it's going to be gas fed, tinkering will always be required.
