I refuse to even click a thread entitled "Go Alabama"

I agree with your last statement except I don't mind seeing 2 very highly ranked and 3-4 in the top 15. We should have at least 25% - 33% of whatever ranking you are looking at.

But to be clear, I will root against Alabama, Florida, and Georgia every time and take chances on that scenario of tie breaker because if Tennessee loses a game they shouldn't only self to blame. Again Ohio State more times than not having weak schedule/easier path has worked just fine for them hasn't it? That's the question you still have not answered btw.

Any time the SEC conformance does good it make all the members look good. Get over your petty prejudices.

It's not a petty prejudice lol. They are our main completion for recruits. Top recruits want to play for winners right? If they are winning....

But the rest of their conference can't compete with even mid-level power 5 teams, ergo no CFP. OSU won their conference this year, guess they could have used some style points?

UCF beat Auburn.

Yeah, Ohio St could have used some style points.....like not getting blown out by Iowa.

The only one with blinders on is you, because if you think Georgia, Florida, Alabama etc are not MORE again pay attention here not saying we do not have Some competition with teams outside conference obviously the closer to Tn the said outside conference team is the more it could be factor like Clemson, but Georgia, Florida, Alabama will ALWAYS BE MORE OF COMPETITION!!

For example do you think we compete for more recruits with Georgia or Oklahoma?

Do we compete with more recruits for Alabama or USC Trojans?

When USC gets Tennessee kids and if you check we have recruited quite a bit in California, so I would say it is about equal. Any of the top recruits list Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Texas, etc. We go head to head with almost every school!!

So with the UGA win today, Tennesses image looks alot better....

...or something 😂

I don't know about the rest of you, but I truly believe that to be the best you have to beat the best. I want the SEC to be the best and when we get to competing again I want to show the world we are the best.

Again I am not saying we do not get some recruits from schools like California or school like USC do not get an a Tennessee kid every once in a while. I am saying Georgia, Alabama, Florida is more. You say every recruit lists those, well no Georgia just now got good so that is not true and Alabama and Georgia were still main competition even back when Georgia and Alabama were down.

Clemson recently has been a factor since they are good now and close, but again consistently year after year decade after decade Alabama, Georgia , Florida will be our main competition.

Will beat the best win get to SEC championship and playoff. This has worked well for other teams.

If we win the sec we will have a chance to play / beat the best in the CFP. The argument arose from folks calling people like me morons and such for not going for Alabama and UGA tonight because it helps Tennessee. When in reality it literally does nothing for Tennessee.
The SEC will also be considered as a pretty strong conference, people not going for Alabama has no influence on that. Lastly, if we win an NC, i dont really care who we beat to do it.

The only way for the SEC to be guaranteed a spot in the playoffs by winning the SEC is for the SEC to have the respect it does. Ask Ohio State!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: I don't believe in calling others names, but I don't get not pulling for the SEC and that comes from someone that bleed for the Orange!!!!!!

The way to get a spot in the playoff is to win the sec and avoid loses .....such as 55-24 to a team like SC. Ask Ohio St.

Alabama got in because Wisconsin lost and Alabama has been the dominate team the last decade, not because of other sec teams.

I saw your edit. I dont understand how any Tennessee fan could go for Alabama.

How TF does Bama winning another National Championship help UT in any way?

Rooting for Bama just because our new HC is still on Saban’s staff is flat out ridiculous.

Every year there is at least one team from a P5 conference that does't get into the playoffs ( do the math 5 conferences for power 5 and 4 spots). Which is one of I believe two conferences that have been in every one????

Yes all SEC teams except UT should always lose every game. I with you!!!

Moron, we would be out of the playoffs quicker than grease through a goose. Any time your conference wins bowl games, especially on New Years Day, it benefits all the teams in terms of respect come playoff selection time, TV contracts, etc. Don’t expect you to understand though.

Here is some logic from the other side of this argument. Everytime A team from the sec (especially Alabama) wins a national title they gap between us and them widens. They get more exposure, and end up getting more elite recruits. The rich get richer and we stay at the bottom. I hope Alabama loses every game they play in from now until the end of time, I am a Tennessee fan, not a sec fan end of story.

If Tennessee wins the sec and has 0 or 1 lose they are in. Simple as that. If they win the sece and have 2 or more losses, they have noone to blame but themselves. I wouldnt expect to play for an nc with 2 losses.
As a whole the sec has sucked the past 3 years, yet we still have one team in every year and 2 this year.

For those who may be extreme Tide haters, I thought I'd start this thread to issue comments you would like to post under the Go Alabama thread started by Gandalf. I cannot enter a thread like that myself, it can only get zero clicks from me. I understand pulling for Bama in this one circumstance, that said you'll NEVER find me in a Go Bama thread unless "straight to hell" is in the same sentence structure.
