Well, excuse me, but that goes with the territory of being a SEC coach and making millions of dollars coaching 18-22 yr old football players.....
And, IF you have a young, inexperienced and undeveloped OL--which indeed we have....then you DON'T zone block with them against Jr. and Sr. SEC DL....you create double teams and run counters, traps, and counter gaps to give our young guys ANGLES OF ATTACK instead of asking them to line up and muscle guys off the line of scrimmage.
OR--you could leave a DL unblocked and run the read-option and put the pressure back on the DEFENSE instead of on a young OL....
And, even so--we did put up 32 points against UGA....I believe that was with this SAME YOUNG OL.....And, if our receivers can catch perfectly thrown balls and we don't call a STUPID PASS play on 3rd and 2 from the 4 yd line--we play OK to a 27--20 or one score game....And OK had the BEST defense we've faced to this point....
But what has happened to us since OK and UGA? Same players, same OL......but what??? There's no confidence and clear plan of attack....which falls on the OC.....
And we face possibly the toughest Defense of our schedule this Saturday night.....GO VOLS! :salute:
