My, my, my these threads have my head spinning today. We've got the JG pumpers vs the skeptics, ahem, realists. I'm team skeptic, but for the sake of everyone, here's some neutral observations. Pruitt was correct about JG being the best qb on the team. I think technically he's not, however, the back-ups don't have the experience and it showed today. That's the coaches fault. Those that are saying JG would have had more tds have the youngsters not played, just stop. Yes, he probably would have, but you're an idiot if you disagree with the backups getting snaps. It should go without saying and your argument is logically invalid. Bottom line, JG is not an sec quality QB, but the best we have on the roster. Maurer is promising, and I think majority would agree that he would play better with the 1s. Shrout has quite the arm, but he's very rough around the edges. All in all, we don't currently have a QB talented or seasoned enough to compete with other sec teams. I don't want JG to fail. I'd like nothing more to see him turn it around, but realistically, he's just not good enough to score the points we need against to win against sec teams. I know we love our vols, and I admire some of y'alls optimism, I really do. I just know what it takes to win, and right now, we don't have it.
