I feel a LOT better about our trip to the Swamp...

if only you knew the power of the dark side

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if we were as dominant as the bad guys in the prime of my football watching years. The last few years have been tough. I mean I was just a 12 year old tike when we won it all. I try to imagine myself wearing a putrid orange mixed with blue jogging suit. Then I remember that I wasn't meant to be on the faggy..... I mean dark side. It's just a long movie, and the heroes always find a way to win in the end.

CDD and our boys are going to make a strong statement by owning the swamp this year... We are in such a better position this year then we were last year and the gators are worse... Just wish I had the cash to make the trip down there to see it in person

I understand what the OP is saying. Not seeing Tebow and Urban on the sideline is an emotional boost. Muschamp and Brantley/other qb's=beatable. I didn't feel UT could beat Urban with Pf or Kiffin.

The D-Linemen looked plenty athletic, but Muschamp's demeanor and the tempo of the practice weren't really quite so impressive.

Just curious....Do you every actually say anything positive about the vols?

He didn't say anything negative about the Vols here. Just pointing out what every realistic fan knows, it's a very tough place to play.

The espn commentaters kept saying it was a three way race between SC, Georgia, and Flordia for the east. I can see South Carolina, but I don't think Georgia or Flordia is any better off then Tenneessee.

I know preseason polls are only hype-meters anyway, but I don't understand how anyone could have UF ranked. They're replacing their two best OL, they've got great starters on the DL, but no depth, they dismissed their best CB (possibly their best player on the team), and although Weis's system may fit Brantley better, there's still a learning curve, and from what I've heard and read, they're still waiting for a WR to step up.
They've always got great talent, but I don't see how they're supposed to be any better than last year's 8-5 squad.

And obviously UGA's got a lot of holes to fill on offense (aside from Murray, who deserves the praise he's getting). I don't really know much about their defense though.

Even with our shortcomings along the front 7, I still think UT will beat both UF and UGA this year.

Will Muschamp might end up being a great head coach, but he has never really impressed me. Seems like a stand-up kind of guy, though. I am anxious to see how this whole thing with Charlie Weis will turn out. Weis just seems like a cancer to me ... might be a great offensive football brain, but the way he carried himself at Notre Dame was laughable, immature, etc.

In any event, going to the Swamp is always tough. I am ready to see us go in there an take it to the reptiles this year! (Well, to hear about us taking it to the reptiles anyway -- no TV.)

Musclecramp is the unknown variable for UF right now. The talent is there no less. The talent may hide some of the coaching deficiencies they have. At this point in the game, UT needs to go down there and give UF a good, tough game and not roll over and play dead in the 2nd half.

I think the biggest issue is fitting Meyer's players from his scheme into Weis' scheme.

I've always thought that there are a few schools where you have to be an extremely bad coach to NOT win at least 8 games a seaon just due to the amount of talent available in state. Among these are Texas, USC, and Florida. There is absolutely no excuse for not winning 8 or 9 games a year at those places. I suspect that Muschamp doesn't have to be all that good to win at Florida.
