I have to agree with this, he hasnt been getting the looks he use to... but he hasnt been hitting the impossible shots that he trade marked at tennessee eitherI think lofton's main problem was our team's refusal to help him create a shot. there were barely any good screens set in the past month or so.
Prince passing it off to Tyler Smith to break a press rather than dribbling it up was possibly the low point of the game.
I'm in no way criticizing Chris or blaming him for our loss. I'm just saying a guy who is going to be a legend in the annals of UT lore is not supposed to have a string of the worst games of his career at the end. It is not a fitting end.
Exactly. Witness: Lofton playing alongside Watson.I would submit that it is not a coincidence that Lofton's "string of the worst games of his career" just happened to coincide with Pearl being so frustrated at his PG play that he decided to bench both of them when he didn't have another PG on the roster. If we had a point guard, Lofton wouldn't have ended his career in such a slump.
I just do not understand how someone so freaking clutch, who has played so well, can go out like he has this year. Even through most of the year he didn't play as well as he did last year, and the last two or three weeks he's been awful. I don't know if it was something in his personal life, or an injury, but something was wrong. It's very depressing. If we had lost and he had gone out in a blaze of glory it would be one thing, but he is a Tennessee icon, and that is not the way it was supposed to end.
i seriously hate all of you right now!
would you listen to yourselves!
most idiotic fans ever!
OUR SEASON IS OVER! THEY PLAYED GREAT DEFENSE!
HE TRIED HIS BEST!
Erik Ainge wouldn't be as clutch as Chris Lofton in his wettest of dreams. Blasphemous to even put the two in the same sentence. I'll take Fulmer's comparison over the summer of Ainge being our Candace Parker as being more credible...We all loved Erik Ainge too, but unfortunately we have seen this ending before. Hopefully Chris will be remembered for his better moments. Good luck to the seniors in all of their endeavors.
