But he wasnt going to do any better here either, until the roster was increased with better talent and more depth

I think he was hired on what his last name was and who he could bring

It wasnt based off of his credentials

He had a losing record as a head coach, just like Dooley

I think everyone wants to win so bad that when we lose the games we are expected to, everyone loses their cool. Our pride is too strong to accept that we are a bowl bubble team right now.

You're so right. I mean you can ALWAYS believe coaches when they say they're not interested in a job! Just look at how Saban, Meyer (twice now) and others have answered questions about jobs. Nice call, no one would wanna come to such a small school with no fan base, small stadium and few resources like UT...

IMO expecting higher standards from the posters on VN is more of a long shot than expecting more from our football team.

Answer me this...if we were down to Derek Dooley, who would have had to decline the job before Hamilton went to him?

If I recall correctly, Hamilton has stated that he went to Muschamp first, he declined. Moved on to other candidates (Utah HC, Sumlin, Calhoun, K. Smart), was declined, went back to Muschamp who then recommended Dooley.

Unfortunately this is an open forum.
Some of the other forums have rules about bashing players and coaches. You get banned if you do it.
Talk to the moderators if you don't like the posting.
And if they do set standards for posting you can watch the membership drop.
That might be a good thing in your eyes, but not sure about the moderators.

Agreed, there are a lot of people on here who are always pessimistic about the Vols... whatever happened to Win, Loose or tie, Vols till I die?? Thats how I have got through my first season as a fan...

Hamilton being allowed to stay in power was more detrimental to the program than allowing Fulmer to linger for a few years too long. I think until we have some more cleaning house as far as administration this program will be mediocre at best.

I'm disappointed that people still can't see what a failure Derek Dooley is. What else does the guy have to do to get your attention, burn Neyland down, move UT to the Sun Belt?

It's probably best you stay over in Nashville. We would like to have people in Knoxville that actually have football knowledge. There's a gold and black team there in your town who may be looking for support. Try them.

I'm sorry but WE ARE TENNESSEE.. All of the absolute best coaches should leave their current jobs to come to UT, all players should want to come to UT because WE ARE TENNESSEE....very tongue in cheek...coaches used to get 4 years to rebuild. in today's play station world, younger fans think 1 year should do it.
