I Am Amazed By The Kool-Aid

I know a win this Saturday is highly unlikely....I accept that. However, I still want to see the Vols play a tough game with 100% effort for four quarters. Even though they lose, they can still walk away with something to build on. I hope Kiffin has the boys ready to play so we can avoid the "deer in the headlights" look from last year. GO VOLS!

That's really all I'm hoping for in this one.

As long as the team never quits, thats what Im looking for, just keep playing hard no matter what the score is.

Agree, 100%. Some people on here are just setting themselves up for disappointment. The game is what it is, if you know that going into it then it will be more enjoyable to watch.
Disagree. I don't think we will win, but there is no fun in watching a game in which you are sure your favorite team will get blown out.

you sure dont have a problem with that do you Justin?

Positive.

How many threads have I started telling people that Tennessee has no chance against UF so they should stop "embarrassing themselves" on message boards?

It's a college football game. What other Tennessee fans think don't reflect on you whatsoever.

Get over yourself. Go talk up that slimeball Petrino and his Razorbacks or keep talking up Urban and his gators.

Ya gotta respect a man that stands his ground even when his getting bashed. I think maybe if you would have read what you typed before hitting submit maybe you would have reworded or changed some of your comments.

I've read many many of your posts and i honestly couldn't believe what i was reading. Wasn't one of your better posts Rex. Everybody has there opinion though, even if it is shocking.

Even after the debacle on the Hill last Saturday there are still those that think we will "shock the world". Maybe we should rename Neyland and call it "The People's Temple." Seriously, guys we are headed into the most hostile environment in college football to play a game against a team that has won 2 national championships in 4 years. Did I mention that they have the best player in college football at the most important position? I was over at rivals and could not believe how many people still think we have a chance to win. Its almost embarrassing to be honest. Look, I love the Vols and I have witnessed some amazing upsets in my time, the 86 Sugar Bowl comes to mind. No one said we had a chance then, but that crowd was decidedly pro-vols and electric. We wont have that emotional lift this go around. I want us to win, but honestly, we dont have a chance. I want us to show some heart, to play hard to the end and never give up no matter what the score may be. If we can do that, then I think CLK will have done his job in his first visit to the swamp.

I don't think we get the W either.....but I didn't turn off the Notre Dame game at halftime either. My buddy did and hates himself to this day. Let's play the game. If we create 6 turnovers like we did at UCLA anything can happen.

There's always a chance Rex.....as slim as a one as it is, there's always a chance.....

God help our boys....they've worked hard.....give them your blessings.

UT fans will never buy into this we don't have a chance stuff. We do have a lot of talented players despite what some "experts" may say. Of course we have a chance. Yes I concede, we most likely won't win and it is easier to not get your hopes up as FLA is a better team. But Ole Miss wasn't better than FLA last year, yet they did win the game. If we catch some breaks and win the turnover battle we could win this game. That said, I would be content just to see improvement in Crompton and the passing game so we can finish the year respectably.

Rex, I appreciate the info and stuff you bring to the board....but seriously man, are you a closet UF fan, or are you just enamored with them? Maybe its just because I haven't caught many of your threads lately or something, but it seems that EVERY time you start a thread it is always UF related. Yes they are one of the top 2 or 3 programs in the country, but I'll be damned if I just want our team to go down there, take their butt kicking, and kiss Florida's NC rings. Do I expect us to win? No. But I also think our team has more raw talent than the Ole Miss team that went in there and beat them last year. The only HUGE difference in us and that Ole miss team is they have a top shelf QB and we have a guy that would struggle to succeed in the MAC or WAC, much less the SEC. I am confident we will keep this game close. The idiots like Mike Wilbon saying we will get crushed by 60+ points must not have noticed how good our D was last year, and how great they have played this year. They REPEATEDLY had to play with their backs against their own end zone and just gave up a bunch of field goals. If UCLA had to move the ball more than 15 yards to score, our D played well. The only time UCLA actually drove the ball on us was the first posession of the game. If UF covers the spread, I GUARANTEE it is a direct result of Crapton throwing picks that get housed or fumbling snaps like he so loves to do. Sorry for the novel, I am just sick of hearing the negativity. Our kids have worked their asses off trying to get his program back to the level before Fulmer left it in ruins with talent gaps all over the roster. Win or lose, I cant wait for this week to be over.
