I had a bad feeling about how Butch and staff was going to call this game, when we settled for 3 instead of using one of our 5 star RBs to gain a couple inches. After watching the Florida loss last season & now this one, its really got me concered about Butch and his in game coaching and adjustments. How in the world we lost this game is mind boggling. Anyone who is familier with TN football knew and could see this loss coming tonight. I knew it in my heart when it came down to crunch time OU would start scoring and put this game away. Its like watching a damn rerun every season. We screwed around all night long like we did last season in the Florida game, and got down right embarrsed! Its really pathetic that we let average teams come inside of Neyland Stadium and make us look like a high school team. I don't know how were ever going to get some of these so called bigger wins. Every season starts with a hope and confidence until we do what we've got none for, LOSING! I can't wait to hear the Bull crap coach talk from Butch tomorrow, talking about how young we are, and how we need to learn how to win again. What a joke!! Butch showed his FB in game IQ tonight. The jury was still out if he could coach or not, and I think he more than answered the question! It was hard watching our Vols choke away another home game on national TV!!

Well you said it bro!

I knew how it was going to go after OK scored to get within 7. Offense couldn't do squat. IF we had a freakin KICKER, the D would have had enough cushion. The OL is the problem. And Maggitt getting hurt. Damn I wanted this for Butch and the players.

the freaking in game coaching is the problem. being a conservative sit on my lead vag is the problem. the problem is when Stoops figured out how to stop our offense we once again failed to make any in game adjustments! we have a 6'3" 242lb RB and didn't go for it on 4th and inches on the goaline. no balls. that would have been the difference. I love Butch i really do i have been a huge supporter, but he has been outcoached on the field in game management in big games!

These kids were absolutely in a position to win and couldn't capitalize on offense. No push up the middle, couldn't handle the pressure in the 2nd half. Coaches didn't make Ellis drop that gimme TD in the 4th. Coaches didn't miss a 48 yard FG so far to the right it makes one wonder where he was even looking in the first place. Wish some plays weren't called, but no coaches are 100 percent right all the time. Losing Curt hurt the defense and it showed. I can't wait to bump this thread in 2 months when we recover and y'all look like some idiots.

no excuse for blowing a 17-3 lead in neyland with the crowd we had. horrible in game coaching. Stoops figured out how to stop our offense , and we made zero in game adjustments. no balls conservative sit on our lead and play not to lose coaching. defenses deserved to win they played great. horrible offensive coaching. defense gave the offense the ball inside the OU 30 twice. no points. we have 4th on goal on the one inch line with a 242lb running back and kick a freaking fg no balls. i love butch and i have been a supporter, but this isn't the first stupid crap in a very winnable game that he has let occur.

All on coaches.

I'm freakin' sick.

I am freakin' sick.

Have to put some of it on our mediocre quarterback as well. Everyone was ready to anoint Dobbs as the second coming this season. Fact is, he may be able to run they ball, but he has never shown an ability to beat teams with his arm. Has never shown any ability to make plays under pressure either. Plus he looks like sloth from the goonies.

Man, I know you're a big fan, but your actions are actually bad for the program. You can't spend all off season boasting and saying we're going to win 10 plus games and when the the first loss comes just give up.

It makes it seem like you were just waiting for them to not fulfill your lofty expectations.

edit: Bad for the program is probably too much. Bad for for the board maybe?

I just want the best for you guys. Remember...Snap and clear, Orange dog, watch the tape lol.

Exactly how I feel, I don't wanna hear "we have to learn to win." No Butch you need to learn to win.

absolutely Butch doesn't know how to win the big ones. the ones that matter against ranked opponents or conference rivals. coaching lost this game flat out. whats so frustrating is that its in game coaching. I love Butch I really do. he does everything else right. recruiting, character, class, tradition, even his football knowledge is good I think, his practices are very organized, he is on the cutting edge of sports science, heck he even had them boys ready to play tonight you could tell when the way they came out. but goodness he can not make in game adjustments and manage the game and coach to win in the big games. and at this point after coming so close last year to Georgia, florida, and Missouri .... im just sick of hearing his stupid coach speak $Hit . its getting ridiculous. its time to put up or shut up! if I have to hear his crap about recruiting , winning culture, and brick by brick, and hype hype hype bs bs bs bs talk out my A$$ crap after another disappointing loss to florida I may go nuts!!!!!!!

I'm absolutely done.

Oklahoma is an extremely mediocre team that will probably lose 6 to 7 games again this year. Stoops best days are so far in the rear view mirror no one know when they were. Yet they were still able to come back on Tennessee after 17 points down and Tennessee leading 17-3 to start the 4th, at Neyland Stadium of all places.

I'm really done for now. Start winning a game of significance every now and then, maybe it will be worth watching, but for now, yet again, I feel cheated out of four hours of my life.

Oklahoma will win more than 6 or 7 games. So will Tennessee. Both teams have some deficiencies on the offense, maybe. UT played great on D, but so did OU. I, am admittedly an actual trolling OU fan. I don't post much on these things and with all due respect, most of you guy's reasons for losing, are disrespectful to both teams.

Tennessee did not "give this game away". OU, with 8 minutes left, took the momentum with brute force and played like they were capable when it counted. Your D got warn down a little. We OU fans, including me, (just speculating) were calling for Riley's head during the game. This was just two well above average teams duking it out, but someone had to lose. With all due respect, OU made a couple of unforced mistakes that aided in UT's scoring and kept OU in rotten field position, but that's just part of the game.

Just my opinion, so you may take it FWIW, but I really believe both teams will be just fine this year. As it is also my opinion that each team caused much of each others deficiencies.

It was a helluva game. In the SEC, UT is my favorite team. My mother is from Jefferson City so it's in my blood.

Quit freaking out and just try and give credit where credit is due. I have much respect for your team and coaches and you guys are pretty danged good, if you ask me. Don't pull the trigger yet.

Respectfully,
The Savage

Oklahoma showed us what it means to be big time. In our house.

Unbelievably painful loss that should have been a three TD blowout. We should not have had to watch another of these horror shows after Florida 2014. But, we have.

These coaches have a lot to answer for on Saturdays. They showed ZERO faith in their team.

We are not ready for prime time. Oklahoma showed up and showed out smoother than a fresh jar of Skippy when it mattered most.

I knew some moron would say this.

Only big problem I had with Butch tonight is 4th and goal at the 1 first possession. Kicking the FG was playing not to lose.

I knew some moron would say this. Trying to shift the blame to everyone except the coaches.

I'm absolutely done.

Call me a fair weather fan or whatever.
Tennessee has not won a true game of significance since 2007 Georgia but since then they have lost game after game in what I would call mindboggling fashion. Time and time again. That's been eight seasons of this trash and I'm sick of it.

If you are truly done, which I highly doubt, then that is the very definition of fair weather.

Our Vols played hard but the 3 holding penalties that allowed them to keep the ball were the deciding factors.
Hey Coaches....... Have you ever heard of slowing the game down and milking the clock when you're up 14 in the second half? Really? You could have chewed up clock rather than running the hurry up when you're ahead.

Explain to me how you go into the 4th quarter with a 2 TD lead, our defense is gassed from being on the field so much, and yet you STILL stubbornly run your up tempo offense and snap the ball, leaving up to 20 seconds on the play clock each time?? That is ABSOLUTELY on the coaches! If we slow our tempo down, hand the ball to our 240 lb running back and milk the clock we win that game!

O-line reverted to '14 caliber play, Dobbs was getting hammered, we drop a game defining touchdown pass at the 2-yard line, we didn't get beat 34-10. Like many have thought for a while, we're better but we aren't quite there yet. Lighten up with all the doom and gloom.

This coaching staff has left 3 wins on the field in 3 seasons. That's not doom and gloom, that's a red flag!

There's plenty of blame to go around.

Bottom line: when you lose that game, with that lead, in that stadium...you deserve the criticism.

Sucks, but it is what it is.
