Objectively, if CJH falls on his ass next year. I’m talking 3-4-5 wins, if a change is made, who is out there who would be interested? Are there any coaches who played at UT during the glory days who would be motivated by love of VFL and not just dollars? Frankly I don’t know of any.

I know people like to speculate and like to say "well who would you get," but I'm not the one that makes millions to do that. Danny Dimes is. Huepel was a good stop gap but he's Moses. He got us out of Egypt. We need a Joshua (That's not last named Huepel) to lead us to the promised land.

Hiring a college football coach is a
Monumental task. You never know who is gonna be good. Sure you have your Kirby Smarts and Ryan Days but what other coach is a sure fire thing?

I don’t know anywhere near the amount about football to think who would make a great head coach. I thought Freeze was gonna be good at AU. I mean if you really wanted to get serious then you would have to make big time financial packages to guys like Lanning, Sarkisian or someone else.

This offseason is going to be very interesting.

yup. What happened in Neyland is the equivalent of your girlfriend doing that one thing that you said was a dealbreaker at the beginning of the relationship. She's going to test your resolve in that now that you've been in it for a bit.

Hypothetically, as the question states.

He has another good year at Tech, turning around a program that has for years been a non-factor in a P4 conference. Kind of like what Franklin did at Vandy. Wouldn’t have a huge buyout, either.

Not the sexiest of names, but I think that guy is going to get offers after next year IF he can keep up with the results.
