Hypothetical Situation...

Show them the kind of talent they can coach, and they could see a quick way to advance their career by significantly improving on last year's results (since we don't really lose a lot of contributors and have the possibility of some immediate JuCo help, any coach worth their salt should be able to improve).

A good coach can win nine games with this team next year, IMO.

The only reason to keep Dooley is because Dooley is already here, is that what you're saying?

Not at all. I am saying that DD as HC would put a more talented team on the field than any coach we could hire. Doesn't mean we win but the roster next year will be much stronger with DD than without.

So DD brings "strength" to the roster?

Agreed. The right coach could have won 7-8, including a bowl, this year, even without Hunter.

Agree. Should have beat UGA and UK, and possibly could have taken USClite if we had any kind of run game, but with Worley's first start, I give him a pass for that one.

Intellectually dishonest.

If you fill up those 20,000 empty seats per home game you've paid his buyout.

Coaches are hired to win football games. Athletic Directors are hired to restore the administrative side.

Who have you asked? The last time Tennessee went looking a coach in 2008, they got the best available candidate at the time (I refuse to give Chizik credit for buying Cam)

What the hell does father factor mean? You think anyone gives a rats ass he's Vince's son other than Mike Hamilton and Nick Saban?

I am going to take issue with you on the coaches and the AD department....

The AD department governs and assists but the Staffs execute. So there is more than just winning....They don't call the AD first when a kid gets thrown in jail or pisses hot. The AD enforces and oversees the policies and regulations of the NCAA and the Coaches seek advice and rulings from the AD when they execute it...The first line of Administration is at the Coaching and staff level....not the AD. So the priority as a coach is to win and run a clean program within administrative guidelines....Kiffin ignore the rules and could have cared less....

You've confused Kiffin with the former basketball coach.

Are we young? Absolutely. Is experience important? Without a doubt.

But this whole "THERE IS NO TALENT ON THIS TEAM" myth is just not true.

Absolutely. Two top 15 classes-- our freshmen and sophomores have talent. They will play better with experience, but they underperformed this year.

If Dooley had to hire a completely new staff then we might as well fire him. Why start over with a guy who has proven nothing when we could start over with a proven winner and put together a more revamped staff? Honestly, if Dooley just lost Wilcox then id be in favor of letting him go. Our defense is the only thing that improved this year.

I'm almost 100% sure Thompson is going to take the UAB job.

I'm almost 100% Hiestand will be fired.

That's two coaches. If Petersen takes the UCLA job (not sure how high that possibility is), I'm pretty damn confident Wilcox will leave as DC for UCLA OR HC for Boise State. Sirmon will probably going with him.

That's four coaches right there. Not too mention the rumors about Baggett.

Your entire argument is that assistant coaches won't come here for only 1 year guaranteed. What makes you think a head coach and an entire staff would for 2 guaranteed years?
