it was pretty obvious tua wasn’t going to win the award when the presenter clearly didn’t put any effort into actually learning how to pronounce his name.

I think they made the right call, but Tua was deserving as well. Both of these guys are so mu h better than so many past winners (looking at you, Gino Torreta).

Agreed. If Tua would have played in the 4th quarter as much as Murray did, he would have won it by a landslide.

There's no question that Murray meant more to his team than Tua. If one considers the Heisman akin to an MVP, there was pretty much no choice.

Dont know about that. OU runs a system that guarantees huge numbers. Factor in the absence of defense in the B12 and that sets up perfectly. I would be willing to bet that if Riley is at OU nect year and Murray isnt, then that QB wIll put up insane numbers.

While Hurts is serviceable, Bamas offense isnt anywhere as lethal as it is when Tua is in.

I don't disagree. But Murray had all the pressure to keep putting up numbers because OU's poor defense required it. Bama's defense is not as good as in recent years, but no one was coming back once the offense got up by 20 or 21 points. The same could not be said for OU.

The Big Ten reporters had to have some non black person that they could name to the position. That's the only reason he was given any consideration.
