Hyams reporting that Dormady will play?

So, everyone moans about Dobb's and thinks we should give Dormady reps. There's a chance Dormady may get some reps against Georgia, and everyone starts moaning that you can't throw a true Freshman up against Georgia? Really?? SMDH.......... You people.

If they were even entertaining this notion they wouldn't start him...Butch learned from the Peterman/Florida snafu. I predict Dobbs as usual and if he's crisp...he plays through. If we get more of the last two games? Dormady gets a series and they go from there.

Do they wait until it's 50-0 to put Dormady in? It wouldn't bother me if they wait until the O gets bogged down a few times before putting him in but let's not rule him out because you know UGA is going to have 8 in the box and the safeties don't have to be more than 10 yards downfield.

Thanks funny right there I don't care who you are

Errbody cryin

This actually might be a genius move if CBJ actually gave him significant playing time. #1) If he is successful and we win then CBJ takes credit. #2) If Dormady struggles and throws key INT's that lead to a loss, then CBJ can go with the "young QB making mistakes" excuse talk.

Sorry, genius & game adjustments not on the chart.

Georgia would freak-out and I would to, but if they do this...you probably lose Dobbs. Not sure anything would be better unless the game is game-planned better. Debord could get QD killed.

GO VOLS!

Unless the O line blocks better you're going to get Dobbs killed or consistent 2-4 yards losses in the backfield since UGA will have no fear of a downfield pass. You rush and either stop the running back or get Dobbs because I'm pretty sure UGA is smart enough to not let Dobbs get outside.

If you people don't see that Dobbs inability to throw the ball is killing us in so many ways then you are blind. Teams know he can't throw so they defend everything short and scheme against the run. It's not fair to the WR's and it's not fair to Hurd and Kamara. Those guys don't get to do what they do as well as they could because Dobbs can't do his job. Dormady can sling the ball. He doesn't have Dobbs mobility but he does have some mobility. Yes there are many more areas that need fixing with this team like tackling and angle of pursuit but getting the offense back on track would be at least one area of improvement. Georgia is a good ball team but sometimes you gotta get thrown into the fire and many QB's have handled it quite well. I have more confiedence in Dormady than I do Dobbs at this point.

has changed since DeBord's arrival. And not for the better. The Debord hire was a puzzler at the time of the hiring.

I'm now convinced that CBJ's definition of "the best staff in America" refers to the best "yes" men that he could accumulate. DeBord is the clearest example of that.

DeBord was hired because he's a good ol' boy who gave Butch one of his first opportunities as a coach. I really saw no other reason for it. We needed an OC who could coach QBs and help develop our offensive line. We should have ditched Mahoney and hired DeBord as our OL coach/AHC...then hire a REAL OC.

But of course we will never hire a real OC because Butch like to have too much control over his conservative, dysfunctional system

Listen, Dobbs was inconsistent last year and his freshman year, too. He had a lot of stinkers in there against the bottom half of our schedule. I don't think it is fair to pin his accuracy struggles on DeBord. They have always been there.

I say give him a shot. IIRC, the mighty Georgia Bulldog defense is when Mr Crompton starting shining as a qb. Dobbs is a great kid, a leader, who gives his all. He simply is an inconsistent passer. Dobbs is too good to pull, other teams have success with some type of 2 qb rotation why can't the Vols.

What we are doing now if not getting the job done, that is obvious.

Coaching staff isn't flexible enough to add another wrinkle to the offense. Our guys are always still learning the playbook...at least according to the coaches

If Dobbs stays in, then we need to let him play his game. We moved away from that in pretty much every game except Florida. If were not going to let him run then lets move on to a QB that we can build a program around. We had lots of open receivers Saturday and Dobbs is just too quick to hit the safety valve.

I don't think people around here understand QD picked us over Alabama with nick Saban telling him he'd have a good shot to start there this year. He's a highly rated/coveted player that we were lucky to get. Dobbs has never beat anybody worth talking about, shown he can throw the ball, and panicks every time he's in the pocket. I get our line is weak, receivers are over rated and defense can't tackle but dormady might get our passing game going and open up the run and might be the best thing for us right now. There's nothing wrong with giving him a chance, dobbs had his chance to win a big game and didn't. We have nothing to lose at this point. Just my opinion.

Starting a true FR QB for the first time in a hostile environment behind a garbage OLine is a terrible idea.

All my love,
N. Peterman

Seriously though, I hope Dobbs starts if they plan to play Dormady. Let QD get some mental reps on the sideline with the idea in mind that if Dobbs doesn't move the offense in the first several drives, that he's going in to try and jumpstart it.

Dear Nathan,

Neyland Stadium is not typically a hostile environment for Vol QB's. Well maybe it was for you.

All our love, (NOT)
Vol Nation

QD is the only QB we have that has hit the long ball this year. Dobbs is off target on anything over 15 yards.

For all the good things Dobbs has done, there is a reason he didn't beat anyone out for the starting job. Heck, if Worley hadn't gotten hurt, he'd have never seen the field.

I think we'll get the gist pretty quick. We've learned the warning signs...I agree with your Georgia defensive strategy.
