If they were even entertaining this notion they wouldn't start him...Butch learned from the Peterman/Florida snafu. I predict Dobbs as usual and if he's crisp...he plays through. If we get more of the last two games? Dormady gets a series and they go from there.
So, everyone moans about Dobb's and thinks we should give Dormady reps. There's a chance Dormady may get some reps against Georgia, and everyone starts moaning that you can't throw a true Freshman up against Georgia? Really?? SMDH.......... You people.
This actually might be a genius move if CBJ actually gave him significant playing time. #1) If he is successful and we win then CBJ takes credit. #2) If Dormady struggles and throws key INT's that lead to a loss, then CBJ can go with the "young QB making mistakes" excuse talk.
Georgia would freak-out and I would to, but if they do this...you probably lose Dobbs. Not sure anything would be better unless the game is game-planned better. Debord could get QD killed.
GO VOLS!
has changed since DeBord's arrival. And not for the better. The Debord hire was a puzzler at the time of the hiring.
I'm now convinced that CBJ's definition of "the best staff in America" refers to the best "yes" men that he could accumulate. DeBord is the clearest example of that.

I say give him a shot. IIRC, the mighty Georgia Bulldog defense is when Mr Crompton starting shining as a qb. Dobbs is a great kid, a leader, who gives his all. He simply is an inconsistent passer. Dobbs is too good to pull, other teams have success with some type of 2 qb rotation why can't the Vols.
What we are doing now if not getting the job done, that is obvious.
Starting a true FR QB for the first time in a hostile environment behind a garbage OLine is a terrible idea.
All my love,
N. Peterman
Seriously though, I hope Dobbs starts if they plan to play Dormady. Let QD get some mental reps on the sideline with the idea in mind that if Dobbs doesn't move the offense in the first several drives, that he's going in to try and jumpstart it.
Do they wait until it's 50-0 to put Dormady in? It wouldn't bother me if they wait until the O gets bogged down a few times before putting him in but let's not rule him out because you know UGA is going to have 8 in the box and the safeties don't have to be more than 10 yards downfield.
If Dobbs stays in, then we need to let him play his game. We moved away from that in pretty much every game except Florida. If were not going to let him run then lets move on to a QB that we can build a program around. We had lots of open receivers Saturday and Dobbs is just too quick to hit the safety valve.
