Hurricane Irma

Jogging more NNW than NW.. cone is going to shift east at the 11 update.

Good for Tampa area, not as good for my area.

As Americans, we can squabble and fight and disagree on everything under the sun. But when it comes down to it, we are good people that will give you the shirt off our backs if you needed it.

When our backs are against the wall we still help each other.

Watching the news they showed a Weather Channel SUV driving in Miami. They made it through but if they got stuck I wouldn't have ordered emergency workers to rescue them. I will never understand people who don't evacuate or those who are out in these events.

They take the risks to get information out. No different than the trained storm chasers out here in OK during tornado season.

Along these lines, Jose still remains a strong Cat 4 out in the Atlantic. Provided most of the forecast models show it staying well away from any landfall at the moment, it could make a turn depending on what happens over the next day or so.

Last I heard it was supposed to hit those little Caribbean islands that got absolutely leveled. I really hope that doesn't happen, on one island I think they said 95% of all buildings were gone.

Some pics from Orlando:

Orlando International airport deserted on the inside. No planes on the outside. Highway 528 empty.

It's circling out in the Sargasso Sea at the moment. But the models show it's on an unpredictable path and could turn west/northwest.

Looks like a fine time to take your high performance car out on the runways and push it to the limits.

My lil baby is tucked away safely in the airport garage.

I did take a Chevy Equinox out on the runway at about 6pm last night. Got it all the way up to 50mph before the engine started to sound like it would explode.

4 cylinder? :)

All of North Georgia is under a tropical storm watch. Are these watches going to extend to us as well?

I'm in northeast Georgia. I cleaned the garage out for my wife's van, toll the basketball goal and trampoline down. It probably won't even rain here now. Ha

No power but cell service, go figure. Bracing for direct hit.

Does the weather channel REALLY need reporters to stand out IN the hurricane as they report???

It's fun watching the short straw winner wearing goggles report from Miami. I just went out with the dog and wanted no part of it

Haha yep, it’ll probably end up being sunny and 75 with the luck we tend to have with weather.
