Hurd's Mom....Salty at Kamara.

My problem with Butch was the fact he barely used Kamara. Not that he had Hurd as the starter.

There was no reason to put your 2nd or 3rd best offensive player on the bench for 70% of the game.

Kamara should have been essentially a co-starter.

You're much better talking about things after the fact than predicting.....stick with that.

I really liked Hurd when he was here, but if you look at past history not many kids have transferred out of Tennessee and had good results wherever they end up. Except Lennon Creer who did his damage at La tech.

Suck it cause you gona suck.

This hasn't got anything to do w/ Hurd, it's his mom. It's a poorly worded statement, at best, but Julan didn't make it.

This pile on mentality when we still don't know the details is sad.

WOW. Man, that is a new low class.... What did this kid ever do to you or your family? This is a Mom who sees her son's career nosediving over a cliff and is taking no prisoners.... pitiful.

I think it's becoming clear that Hurd's family was his problem. Sad really, he's a very talented young man.

Actually the only reason Hurd started was, he had a HC that was kissing his azz but anybody that watched a game knew Hurd wasn't worth a damn with his 1 yd and get tackled. Kamara was the best back the day he stepped on campus. His mom is mad because Hurd will be playing in Arena league if that. If she thinks her son is so good then how come he didn't declare for the draft.

Hurd is one of the best backs in our teams history and he was averaging over 4 ypc after contact early in this season.

Yes, Kamara should've been used more and probably should've been the starter. But pretending Hurd wasn't an elite RB is insane.

Seems like sour grapes. All Hurd had to do was stick with the team, and he'd be at the Combine.

OTOH, because he quit, we really got to see Kamara put on the show. It really helped his draft stock. He will definitely be second round, if not first...

Several fun parts of this.

1. This shows the Hurd family's ass. Everytime they talk, they provide more legitimacy to to the full disdain of Jalen in the fan base.

2. Showing said ass is something NFL teams see. Ask Brent Grimes how much money he lost because his wife talked too much.

3. Makes Kamara that much more likable.

4. Hurts their sons chances at another university wanting him. Why would anyone want a kid who has a family with such low class? No one wants to deal with that.

That is your opinion just like its my opinion that I never thought he was good. he might of been avg. 4yd after contact which I find it hard to believe and not saying its not true but early in the season which he only played in 5 games this year he was getting a yd here and there and getting hit behind the line a lot. Either way he is a quitter and I was glad to see him go.

He was back up yes, but when he took over, it was clear who should have been back up. What a classless move. Why would you not congratulate Kamara? Wow

hindsight is 20/20. nobody saw what went down with hurd coming after his sophomore year. should alvin have been used more absolutely and i think if they came in at the same time he mightve gotten the nod over hurd. but people are forgetting hurd was very productive his first 2 years here

Between holding back Dobbs and Kamara I'm pretty sure Butch has earned this type of hindsight criticism. Part of the job is properly evaluating talent. If you give him a pass on Kamara then by default you question his recruiting prowless.

So this is pretty classless.......
She can be as cheezed as she wants at the university, but wishing someone like Alvin, who seems like a stellar person and a worth team captain, anything but the best is just freakin' trashy as all hell.

I'm beginning to see where Jalen gets his values and morals from.

Was also a reason that backup was a leader and Hurd, the starter who also had been at UT longer, was not. Was also a reason that backup was a starter by the end of the season. Because Hurd is a quitter. There's also a reason that backup is about to be a millionaire.

Someone queue the "never go full retard" gif

Ah, the 20/20 of hindsight. Even after AK was named a captain at last year's O&W no one thought anything of it on here. Hurd was Heisman candidate and only a few yards from being UT's all-time leading rusher.

Had anyone brought up anything negative regarding Hurd this place would have jumped on the poster like a fly to jelly.

Wow. Classless crap. At worst, AK and Hurd should've been 50/50 with touches. At best, AK should've been the man with Hurd in a supplemental role. AK is about to be a millionaire. Where's Hurd at?

In quitter purgatory trying to become a tight end

Why is he not an elite RB?

A guy his size should be able to break tackles for extra yardage. He gets took down too easily from smaller defenders and lacks the top end speed to pull away from defenders. Not to mention his stiff hips, bad footwork, and poor vision. Kelly and Kamara are a lot smaller than he is and is still able to excel behind the same O-Line that Hurd struggled with.
